sorry for the late reply guys. Someone answered a key question that most ask, there's no need for a perfect break (as long as you don't scratch) and clusters won't matter, now i'm sure that there will be the devil cluster but what's the percentage of that when you have the opportunity "every single time" to land perfect on the break ball for it and any other time after that. I actually like the game and think that the odds are close enough to not make it a hustle depending on skill level as someone mentioned.
I came up with another game on the spot the other day and was surprised as to how close the match turned out.
Once again playing 14.1 rather than giving a person X amount of ball as a handicap that person gets X amount of balls after every rack unless the other person runs the whole rack. So both player are going to 100 (let's say) and the stronger playing will spot (in my case) 5 balls "after" each rack unless the stronger player clears all 14 balls, believe it or not but that game came right down to the wire.
The one game i've been wanting to see two really strong rotation players play is my 14.1 rotation mix, here's how it goes. You play 14.1 as regular (this is a gambling game by the way, it's just designed to make some extra cash like when they put money on a random ball in 9 ball) BUT you make $20 (as an example) on each and every ball that you make that corresponds with that ball in that rack.
i.e.
let's say you just broke open the back and you make 4 balls there after as you shot ball number 5 if that happens to be the 5 ball you'd get paid the deuce then if you make the 6 after than it's another deuce and so forth. If you ran 10 ball and the 11 ball is the 11 then same thing.
I feel that changes the dynamics of the original game and creates or forces new patterns and that's why i'd like to see like an Efren and the like play this game.
But back to the topic, let me know you guys who have a home table or had a chance to try it out, oh and Chicken let me know who you got to bite and how it worked out.
