Okay I'm Sorry.....

I was reprimanded for including a comment about Lance Armstrong in a thread about performance enhancers.

I am sorry for making the comment.

I am also sorry for implying that road players use speed. Since many of them have never tested positive that is an unsubstantiated comment. I am equally sorry for ever saying Barry Bonds used drugs. He has never tested positive either. Others would be wise not to criticize the Austrian cross country team. They never tested positive. Its all just speculation.

Nor-man,
Geez, lighten up. There is no question in my mind that Barry used steroids; he was just a skinny dude in Pittsburgh, who morphed into a beast with the 'roids. Stick to your guns.

If Barry doesn't like it, tough cookies; we are allowed our opinion - if he cared about our opinion he would have taken some drug tests during his heyday to disprove it (which he declined to do on multiple occasions when asked by sportswriters)

NO apologies are needed. This is ridiculous. Most road players I've seen have been jacked-up and/or had to get their mixtures right in order to play, as Corey Harper has once stated on AZ, their chemical speed. It's just a fact of life. Common sense, not drug tests, is more useful here. How else can guys like Eric Durbin fire in balls for 15+ hours and still RUN around the table? Lighten up everyone.

Here's the issue:

Which road players have "tested positive?" None that I know of. Therefore they are innocent. Just because a road player can put in a 72 hour session doesn't mean he's guilty.;)

There was a procedural mess up with floyd landis's b sample, therefor he is innocent.;)

Michael Jackson is not a child molester, afterall he was aquitted. O.J. didn't killl his ole lady, he was aquitted.;)

Oswald acted alone, no evidence to suggest otherwise.;)

I think very little is wrong with the people and the world, if you think otherwise you better have the indisputeable three time verified evidence.;)

CW,
Actually, I think they had no say in the matter. I know Sports Illustrated offered on several occasions, and received no flack from anyone except Barry.

I blame it all on a TOTAL lack of leadership and gumption from that stupid commissioner who let baseball slide into the toilet.

Kenesaw Mountain Landis would have roasted the ass of any steroid user.:) :)

The biggest problem about drug use in sports is the fact that steroids and epo are difficult if not impossible to detect depending on the type of steroid and the steps that the individual takes to conceal it. Hypothetically speaking every player in the NFL or major league could be using a drug and no amount of testing is going to find it. The drugs that pool players use are easy to detect. Stimulants are can't be hidden. A clipping of hair or a little urine and they would be busted.

Having spent some time racing bikes I would not be suprised at all if Lance was Juicing it especially when he first got serious about racing and hadn't reached levels where testing was frequent yet. If he was doing it later on it would had to have been something along the lines of Blood boosting/doping with EPO or some other method which is very effective and until recently almost impossible to detect.

Of course they got no flack, but that doesn't mean that Barry didn't get a phone call, or more likely his agent. Sheffield offered to take one a couple years ago, never did and listening to his offer on the radio he sounded quite serious about it. Maybe he was blowing smoke, but if your taking something that isn't detectable why wouldn't you volunteer for a test if you could?
