Olathe 10 ball ring game tournament

Does anyone have any footage from this tournament yrs ago???
I was at the first one. Don't recall any video of it. Found this tho:
BigTruck may have some filed away. It didn't end real pretty, i do remember that. Talk of business going on.

I never heard of this particular ring game but it has been my experience the best way to gang up on a guy and rob him is a ring game.

Gotta be sure you know who you are playing against. An outsider faces long odds.

i was there. It was put on by the Action Report. Justin and Big Nasty (RIP). I dont think Bigtruck would have footage of it. Justin Bergman defeated Shane Mcminn to win it all if I recall.

When it was down to three Mike Bank's Jr. had a pretty big stack of chips, Shane McMinn was in 2nd and Dennis was last. I can't remember exactly what happened but either Mike or Shane passed a shot back to the other and they made it in the side. Dennis immediately unscrewed and forfeited for third place. The assumption is he thought there was some type of business between Banks and McMinn. Shane went on to defeat Mike for the win.

But the outsider is also getting 2:1 on the money, so the ganger-uppers better know who they're playing too!

My experience is if you never get a shot you are of chips because somebody runs out before you get back to the table.

I played in a ring game - 10 ball - and took second the first week. Rattled the 8 ball on a bank shot in the final rack. Next week I never got a shot. First player out. I didn't buy back in and I didn't return the following week.

That's why I asked if Orcollo returned or if he wised up. Doesn't matter if you are the best player in a rigged ring game. No better way to rob a guy.

They were a yr apart. If DO was in the area i'm sure he would have played again as the $$ was kinda hard to turn down. I have NO solid proof of what did/did not go down. Looked a lil funny but those ring-game chip tourn. can look that way.

You aren't wrong and it also isn't always right.

For upper mid level players and below, giving 2:1 on the money can be real risky. Remember, these are players who turn the table over by accident/ error.

Unless they are going to blatantly team up, they can get behind very quickly.

I've been on both ends of it and ring games (used to be) a specialty of mine. I can't even tell you how many times I've won a game, then shit the 9 in and brk/run one, other players have.paid 3+ games and not taken a shot and I am at least 6 payments ahead of where I was when I started.

If one can do that trifecta+ once every hour or so, it is a real hard thing for the others to counter.

I was in a ring game event and got down to the final table, then the final 3...

After the 2nd time dude slow rolled a bank to the pocket, I knew the fix was in.

I was not surprised to see the two leaving in the same car.

James Walden was so hot at how the end played out that he went on-line and talked all kinds of shit about Dan(owner and great pool supporter), the room, etc. Dan was so mad(rare) that he barred James for a couple yrs. Dan was po'd mostly because James didn't come to him with his beef but instead took it straight on-line. AFAIK the '08 ring-game had no issues. I really enjoyed the first one, Scotty T. and a bunch of other road-dogs were there.

If the guy in front of you misses and leaves you safe you're not going to win if the other players are competent. Against bangers you might still win but against decent players you might as well unscrew. Somebody will run out before you get back to the table.

I've made tens of thousands of dollars running out from 'safe'...and I suck at pool.
