At the recent MIH, Efren had 6 8-&-outs to Shane's 3. But if you count runs of 6, 7, and 8, Shane had more (13 to 11, including the playoff match).

Which goes to show it's when those runs are made that were important.
I agree with the OP that experience trumps youth (most of the time).
On that subject, anyone else notice that Efren is looking a little better these days?
I sure hope he has begun to eat better, exercise a bit, and overall,
has learned how to live a healthier life.
If that's the case, that's a scary thought because he has the knowledge and experience.
There's no reason he can't continue his winning ways for year to come.
May that be a lesson to all.

A worthy champion. I always rooted for him to win, and I will continue to do so. He displayed phenomenal skill and his joy of playing is contagious.

Efren played top notch. Shane was the only other player that played top level one pocket in the event as well if I'm remembering AtLarge's stats. I was very surprised to see how everyone else under-performed. That's not to take away from Efren though.
Alex, Tony, Scott and Efren are the top 4 one pocket players in the world right now. 5 doesn't have a definitive contender IMO.

IMO Efren is the best there ever will be, Period.
And Alex is the top gambler right now, although I'd love to see Alex vs Tony 8 ahead for big money

Efren's not really old yet, by any means. He's international, yes, but wait till he's incontinent like our friend pt.
And as for being old and playing pool? There's nothing that instills confidence more, than a couple of skid marks in your under-shorts.
