Friends, here's one awesome photo of our heroes of the green felt - the original Philippine Team, the Filipino Invasion!

The photograph was taken in 1993 at the Coronado pool hall in Makati City right after they won the 1993 World Team Billiards competition held in Las Vegas, Nevada.

From left to right:

Rodolfo "Boy Samson" Luat
Francisco "Django" Bustamante
Efren "Bata" Reyes
Rolando Vicente
Leonardo "Dodong" Andam aka The Rattlesnake

*Not in pic is Jose "Amang" Parica - Leader of the Filipino Invasion. He was still in the US when the photo was taken.

.
And for friends who may have missed it, here's the link to the snippet of the Philippine leg of the 1993 World Team Billiards event. It's one cool vid. And I kid you not!

That’s a five man team that can win anything at anytime. Wow I miss watching them all play live. The excitement and energy in the room was electric.

I was watching an old team event - Texas Vs. Kentucky (link - Thanks to David Sapolis) and at 30:05-30:25 or so Mike Sigel talks about a shot that someone on Puerto Rico's team made that was something else and cost the US the championship. This match was played in 1994 and I think the match they were talking about was the team championships in 1993 in Baltimore.

Does anybody remember anything about the shot he's talking about?
