Old Man Cheated

Now that right there makes a lot of sense. If you are anything close to how I feel about things, I couldn't let it rest with the way things turned out and it were me involved.

I'd make darn sure that I outted the Btch every chance I got.

She put him up to a 5 and that required him to replay a match against her BF, right. I don't quite understand the higher workings of how tournaments are run sometimes but it was a cheesy ploy to get her BF back in. Is this correct?

Either way, I would never support a tourney run by this person again, I would tell every player who would listen and lastly, I would make sure that the room owner knew every detail of the cheesy move and let him know that I would be relating the story to others and not patronizing his room if she were allowed to run an further tourneys.

Man, I'm close to 15 to 2000 miles away from you and my butt is burning over this.

The room owner knew what was happening and I guess just let her do as she pleased. I can't do much about it other than let the pool world know
There were a lot of people raising hell about it but she done it anyway

Just playing devils advocate here, but in my 15 yr handicapped tournament career, the players are the biggest crybabies alive. Always crying either to or about the tournament director. (I've never been a tournament director btw).

How do we know in this case Peteys old man wasn't a good player? Maybe Pete's assessment of his skill as a 3 was way off?

Again, just playing the advocate, I know none of the ppl involved except from this thread. But in all the years I've been playing in tournaments, my opinion is the TD is a thankless job, who has to put up with non stop crybabies, week in and week out.

Tournament players complain about handicaps, yes. In all cases I've seen though, if somebody needs to be adjusted it doesn't take place retroactively.
At some point, too many coincidences add up.

I know what your saying. The problem weren't with them jacking his handicap but that she made him play a player that was out the tournament the night before. The old man is a strong 3 and really should have been 4

I'm almost willing to bet the boyfriend lost his next match...

He did, I just got a message from the owner banning me from the room and threatened to sue if I didn't take it down
Ain't that some sh1t. Tell the truth about something and get sued
Well Brent if your reading this and I know you are
I won't be back and if the truth hurts you that bad you should fix it

losesr

This wasn't a tour, it was a house tournament.

WELL I WOULD PASS THE WORD OF WHAT HAPPENED TO ME IN THE TOURNMENT, AND ADVISED OYHERS TO NOT PLAY THERE-THEN I WOULD WALK TO THE [LADY]HOLD UP A BAG OF VIGERIA PILLS AND SAY YOU REALLY DONT KNOW WHAT YOUR MISSING!!! IM 74 AND THAT ALL I HAVE TO SAY ABOUT THAT!!!!
:angry::angry::angry:

Yep thats some real bs no matter how u look at it. I hate handicapped tournaments to easy to rig. I would boycott the tournament from now on. U know what gets me is the boyfriend should have declined a rematch, now he looks like a spoiled little kid that didn't get his way and cried until he did. How embarrassing to be him. Old man should have said no and if they forfeit him he should get money back. This why places go out of business cheating customers. Handicapped tournaments should be like golf tournament you must have a well established handicap if u play. Wait this isnt golf its pool handicapped tournaments dont work ever so lets stop it and let the best players win and let the rest of us at least lose with dignity. Good grief hows it feel to win a pool tournament when your opponent had to give u a spot. Just give everybody a trophy. .. i

I'm going to let you guys keep believing this b******* and then when I'm done playing my friend from out of town I'm going to tell you all the truth.

I'd like to know what the grounds are for the lawsuit? If you told the truth there isn't much he can do except get rid of his TD and apologize to the players.....

Ronnie if you say any different it's a lie, I guess Guy is a liar and so is Mickey and the old man
I gotta hear this

Petey you need to work on your headlines.

SVB Canceled should be SVB Match Canceled

Old Man Cheated should be Old Man Was Cheated

-----------------------------------

This situation: Pretty crappy deal from the way you described it. Looking forward to what the other side has to say. I know if it was me I'd be super upset if it happened to me.

Stuff like this takes the fun out of the game. I don't know what the tournament was worth but IF your father in law was in at too low of a handicap then they should have let it ride and raised him the next event. That's why handicapped events should always start new players higher just to be sure.

Raising him two levels and making play against an eliminated player is bogus though. If I was the player who was already out there is NO WAY I would play. Sorry but if I got beat then I got beat and that's it. I can whine about it but no way am I taking charity and consenting to another match like this.

Yeah my headlines are lacking
I posted the SVB headline with my phone and didn't realize how it read until I couldn't change it. I tried to straighten it out my next post but I couldn't edit the headline

As for the tournament ,if they would have just moved him up and not make him play a player that was out of the tournament nothing would have been said. I am also curious to the response
If he denies this..... Well I'm going to wait and see

The funny thing is that the room owners pissed
and his name was never mentioned. I called out Megan and Gatlin
He should have come on here and said I'm sorry about what happened but I wasn't running the tournament . Then straightened out his TD instead of Ron coming on here denying it. No one said Brent done anything but ban me and Mike for telling what happened

A similiar thing happened to me about 10 years ago...It was an 8 ball tournament in a bar...Around 25 players...The T.D. was a young female who was drinking like no tomorrow..After winning a few matches she comes to me and said, "your up next playing Jason and pointed to him"...I told her I already played Jason...She said . "I know, but you must play him again"...I went over to look at the tournament board and she had put Jason in the losers bracket but then she penciled in a line on the winner side bracket and wrote Jasons name in...
I told her you can't pencil him in on winners side once he goes to the losers side..She was really drunk and said,"why not? I'm the tournament director."I could see no reasoning with her so I played Jason again and won...I also won the tournament...I usually tip the TD but not this time... Needless to say that was my last time going to that bar...A few months later it actually burnt down...
