Here is my original post on 5/30

I play at Hard Times in Sacramento, CA & am trying to get my game together for the June Tournaments. I am 67 years old, not a world beater, but can play some & can't stand playing for fun. I will play $50 or $100 a game one pocket (cheaper if I have to) or small sessions. Road players will have to give up weight, but I will play. So far I have one offer from an out of state player who will be in Sacramento for the tournaments later this month. Looks like we will play, but I have to wait almost three weeks. I would like to play some now to get in shape for the tournament. So if you missed the first post, here goes again. I don't want to travel to the Bay area but since the old offer has not beared any fruit up here, this is something I might go for. I will make an appointment to come to the Bay Area (Family Billiards) or South Bay (CA Billiards in Mtn View) & play some $500 sets. Call or e-mail first so we don't waste each others time. Flash back a mere 30 years. Wow, it has been that long? 1977, no computers. Just pool room bulletin boards. John Henderson, posts on a few local boards that he is interested in playing some one pocket for $500 per set. How long would it take for him to get played? You’ve got to remember, $500 then is like $2,000 today.

John has had his post out for a couple of weeks now. People in all 50 states have read it, plus most of the free world and no action as yet. Does this tell you guys anything?

Don't worry, come Jamboree time at Hard Times, and John can get all the action he can handle, and then some.
 
I'm "in" as soon as I get back in shape ...

Recent knee surgery has laid me up for awhile and I haven't played One Pocket for several months ... I P.M.'d John Saturday night to say I would give it a go when I get "practiced up" again, maybe in a few weeks ... I play mostly at the Jointed Cue and John has graciously offered to play me there, in the Tournament Room, when I am ready ... I'm looking forward to (watching) some "killer" One-Pocket at the Hard Times Jamboree this month and will place all my hopes (and money) on Rafael Martinez ...
 
My friend Lance Salazar might be interested but I'm not sure. I'll ask him next time I see him. You have probably seen him play a couple of times so maybe you guys can make a game.

He should be at the jamboree if he can't make it before then.

I have a couple of matches lined up during the Jamboree. The main purpose of this thread was to play someone before the Jamboree to try and get ready for it. That said, I will play Lance some one pocket before or during the Jamboree. John Henderson
