My friend owns this cue. He has had it forever. I have no idea what model it is and he is wanting to have it restored.
1. Anyone know what model it is? Never seen another one.
2. Who do I send it to? He is older and doesn't have internet or even a cell.

I'd have either Ryan at muellers or profficent billiards do a restore. Ryan posts here as ratcues.

I would not touch it. It will kill the value of it IMO. If thats a crack in the butt cap they will replace it and it will never be the same. Just a thought.

Refinish?

Either Meucci or Scott Sherbine at Proficient Billiards. By sending to Meucci it preserves the originality (sort of), if that isn't a concern, Scott at Proficient does AMAZING work.

I would send it to Rat Cues (Ryan) at Meuller's without giving it a second thought. It will help, not hurt the value. He can repair that chip in the butt without replacing the buttcap or make an exact reproduction buttcap if you prefer. He is, by far, the best Meucci repair/refinisher/restorer alive.

If Ryan is not available, Scot at Proficient can also do the job and do it well. He just doesn't specialize in reproducing the Meucci parts. I personally would not send my cue to Meucci for a job like this.

Don't send it to Meucci. You might not get it back for a year or more... Ryan at Maulers or Scott at Proficient as mentioned above.

My thoughts exactly.

100% agree.

Good advice here.

Proficient Billiards is the one. Repair, restore, what ever...keep it forever and use it.

Looks like I will be emailing Ryan today. I appreciate the suggestions and info.
I will never send a cue to Meucci. I have emailed them countless times with pictures of Originals looking for a quote of any kind and have NEVER gotten the first response.
I have a Gambler player I have been thinking of restoring. If this one goes well Ryan may get that one too.
