Old One Pocket Footage

Thanks for the link. Quite a contrast of shots and decisions compared to the way the game is played today.

music

great footage. love to see historic footage like this one. but what's w/ the dental office music?

I've seen that before and I believe it's at Johnston City, although I don't know the year.
I wish some modern videographer would do their majic on some of this old film footage. Great stuff. Thanks. :)

this is how pool should be played, In a suit and tie showing respect to both the game and you opponent.

The commentary is great as well.

grady

great footage. i knew grady pretty good back in the days at trueloves in okc. he was kind of no. 2 to norman hitchcock. dicky lane, craig stevens and pittsburgh mike(waltrip) were regulars there also, although craig was from wichita, ks. one time at some southtown bar ( on a 3 and a half by 7), grady gave me the eight and break WITH the option of whether i wanted to take the first shot after the break. i commonly got the 6 from dicky and craig. no one thought a lot of my game obviously. i did rob grady that particular time. i think i could, even now at 66, rob god with that spot.

grady again

pss. i now see that the topic was wimpy lassiter. i actually went down the screen to the incardona- mathews match. i just wrote that i knew grady from okc. also, i lived in herrin, which is 5 miles fron johnson city while jansco's tourney went on. in fact, little jan nearly beat eddie taylor in the nine ball segment the first year of the tourney. norman hitchcock, from okc won the all around the next to last year and was in good shape the final year when the worthless ***** da from wiiliamson county busted the tournament for gambling. for both of my replies, thank you for providing an old man with some good memories.

thanks for the link, great find!

If Lassiter hadn't miscued, he'd have made a really nice out from first opening.
