I was cleaning and reorganizing my garage today. I have a pretty good size collection of old Billiard magazines. I remembered Jam asking for old pictures of Keith in a post a few days ago. So I found a couple of him, Parica, Efren, Grady, and a few others. I also found the article about Clyde Childress getting killed in a car accident. Another article about Bucktooth at a tourney trying to stir up some action. I know how much all you guys love him. LOL
I just got this computer a few months ago, and I'm not sure I have a program to resize the pictures so I can download to AZ. I know I have a disk with a picture program on it somewhere and will download them soon.
It was a pretty good trip down memory lane today. If someone else would like to post them for me, I'll email them to you. In the meantime, if you have some to add to this post, drop em' in.

I had to throw away 2 decades of the National Billiard Newspaper as well as 30 issues of the American Cueist yesterday. Plus a scrapbook I kept of tournaments at our Poolroom from the early 80's. Pictures of Mizerak, the Hoffman sisters, Howard Vickery, Buddy Hall, Dallas West, Parica and many more. It was so sad.
My entire home flooded last week in tropical storm Fay and I couldn't save things fast enough, some things just didn't make it. Also, pictures I had set in a low drawer of my husband's fishing trip to alaska which I had intended to put in a scrapbook for him. Word to the wise--plastic tubs from now on. I am looking to buy some issues of American Cueist that I had written stories for, but will put them in the want to buy section.
 
One of these days I will tackle the mountain of paper I have collected over the last 3 decades. I had bulk subscriptions to Pool and Billiards, Billiards Digest, and American Cueist. So I have lots of extras. I have been selling them for the cover price and sometimes much more, depending on the issue.
I wrote many articles and tournament reports for the Texas Billiard News, which evolved into the American Cueist.
What kind of articles did you write? Or what was your pen name?

What name were the articles published under, and if you know any of the issues off the top of your head, I'll look and see if I have them. I mostly have old Billiard News, but I have some of the American Cueist Mags too.
I just emailed the pics I downloaded to Tx Poolnut, so he could post them here. I also sent a few to $Bill.. The one from the Midwest Open, has a good friend of mine in the picture, Steve Oaks, plus Greg Sullivan from way back when. This tourney was held twice a year and always had an outstanding field. 64 player limit. It was always scheduled between a big tourney in Ky. and one in Ohio. Pro players would show up such as Nick Varner, Buddy Hall, Willie Munson, Gary Nolan, Louis Roberts. Not to mention all the road players and shortstops. Tough fields for a little strip club tourney with a $75 entry fee.

I wrote the issues that were ruined on a 3 x 5 card and naturally it has been misplaced. I think it was only about 6 issues that had my stories.
The stories were about the Ladies Florida Mali Tour from 1997 to 2000 but, I am looking for specific issues since I was able to save many. I think the stories were published under the name of T. Daughtridge or T. (Tracy) McCreary.
I had planed on putting them in a scrapbook...best laid plans.
I also have some pictures that did make it, so someday I'll share them too.

Gimme a while and I'll have em up. They are gigantic files relative to the limitations of AZB and need to be reduced a bit. I'll have em up soonest.

I know they're big. I had to send 1 attachement at a time. I'm not sure why they came out in such a large file. I had a program on my old computer that I could pull up a picture, resave it as a Jpeg, and reduce the file. I don't know much about computers, but occasionally figure out how to do something other than my work. LOL
 
To resize pics

Go here and download the Microsoft Power Toy Resizer. It will automatically put the option to resize in any of your Windows right-click menus.

You can resize a whole batch of pics by highlighting them in your directory, then right click and choose resize. I would try one at first and see which size keeps you closest to the 100KB limit for AZB. Usually the medium always works, but sometimes even the large will get you under the limit. Occasionally, even the small option won't put you under the limit. If not, go into Paint and resize manually there.
 
I wish I would have seen Linda's post before I did it all manually in Paint. :o

Anywho, here they are. If they are unreadable at all, I can tweak them and do it again.

I have some old mags from this era that I bought on eBay a few years ago. Maybe I'll slap some pics up of my own.
