Here's a cue that looks old as hell but no markings, definitely hand made with a delrin hoppe ring and a bumperless bumper, pin is brass 5/16x18 flat face with a brass joint. Wrap is white linen with green specs, not sure if it's cortland or not. Butt has a warp so I didn't buy it, but it's still at the pawn shop for $50 bucks.

Can't tell from the pic for sure but those veneers are awful bright.....are they vinyl? Maybe WICO ponts? That's four veneers....four points.....looks yellow-green-blue-black from here.....

Anyway, I'm not sure what it is but it is a very cool cue IMHO.

You said it was warped in the butt? Hmmmm....shame. Knowing me I would have jumped on it anyway. Yup....definitely would have jumped on it......

Brass pin and brass joint collar does not generally speak well for it's origins...though it does not state anything for certain....so it's pretty wide open.

I wonder if it could be an old Viking? Could be a full custom job from anywhere....or an early production cue. I am thinking maybe anywhere from the late sixties to the early eighties from my gut feeling about it. Wish I could narrow it more.

It's a very cool cue.......

I'm just gonna go and buy it, $50 is a tank of gas lol. Breakin, the butt is warped, why would you wanna buy it? Unless you know who made lol. I'll think about your offer and i'll get back to you.

Doc, the veneers are wood, I have never seen anyone use a brass joint with a brass 5/16x18 pin so i'm clueless on the maker. The points are slightly uneven as well.

OK then. Wood veneers.

Uneven points.....

Brass......

18 pin......

Still a cool cue.

I have no idea who made it and I would want it, I have a feeling breakin8 actually does not know the maker either....and still wants it.

If you pick it up get some better pics.

EDIT: By the way, an example of a brass 18 pin would be an early Meucci.....then there was Mali.....and of course Viking as I said (and when I say Viking I mean early....as in a Gordon Hart made cue).....and I think some of the early National cues may have had them too.....and that means it could be by the hands of Helmstetter or Meucci et al.........there are numberous possibilities for a brass 18 pin.....just nothing current or ,ainstream....and probably none of the major big names...... (Meucci and Helmstetter and a handful of others excepted). I just don't remember any of those with a Hoppe ring.....but that means nothing because most cues out there I have never seen.....

I'm gonna take better pics of it, right after i bought it I noticed the shaft has some kind of insert in it as well. Veneers are NOT wico/vinyl, they're wood.

Huebler/Meucci

It is an old Meucci, made when he and Mr. Heubler were in the same shop. The shaft insert is most likely nylon.
Do a search on here, there was a discussion not that long ago. These cues had a clear sticker with black or gold lettering stating Meucci made in the USA; or something to that effect.

I can't find the thread right now. I'll look again on Monday, and post up some pictures to help out with verification.

Its an old Meucci OR Huebler, or as been said, when they were cross pollinating.

BTW I'd throw in an extra 25 just so you could get a real haircut. :p

JV (---just messin' with ya..

I think that would make it a Huebler. Bob went and set Huebler's shop up and ran it for a time. But my understanding is all the cues coming out of there were Hueblers.

Thanks for the info. guys!!! Whoever else wants to throw me $25 for a better haircut i'll pm yall my paypal address LOL!

He said the shaft had "some kind of insert". Wouldn't it be cool if it was a nylon insert? That would really nail the ID down.

Yeah......definitely worth the fifty bucks.......

That's a damn fine fix-up of a Dufferin. Very handsome cue. Not over done, not under done. Is that an anniversary model?

As far as the cue in question.....I wouldn't let anybody near that old linen if it were my cue, it would stay on.

What you have is a QB7

Hello if the shaft has the nylon insert in it is a QB-7 it would have been made while Bob worked in Pauls shop the cues had 2 stickers on them Terry Bajorek
PS Im interested in ti for my collection even if its not straight
