This is an old, very interesting Stratford cue for sale or trade. 4 points, 4 veneers, 2 large, 2 smaller MOP dots on Buttsleeve, 4 MOP dots attached to line veneers between points on forearm, black/white spec wrap. 21 oz. on the nose. Good condition, some small dents, etc. but a perfect candidate for restore or play with as is. Shaft has slight wobble, but cue plays very well. Forearm perfectly straight till the end of the wrap. Buttsleeve causes slight rollout, should not be an issue. Appears to be a well made piece, and has a great look. Make offer! SOLD!!

Straford cue

Hi N.C. !
Where did you get this? Is old enough to have come from Taiwan? Does it have a wt.bolt and are the points close to even? Any gouges into the wood? Both pieces roll OK on a flat surface?

Bump for a "pot luck" deal!

Hi, very unique, eh? The buttsleeve causes slight rollout of the butt section, but straight from end of wrap handle to joint. Straight when gripped normally. The shaft also has a slight rollout, but weighs a hefty 4.3 oz. No weight bolt, but I am sure one could drill and tap out to suit themselves. I try to describe as accurately as possible. Believe me, I've played with many name brands not as straight as this one. 5/16x18 thread, so any flat or piloted aftermarket shaft will fit if the original is not perfect enough. No gouges, only small dents, and no finish flaws. Overall, better condition than I have stated. But I tend to pick out every minute flaw, so you know what you are getting. I really wanted to rewrap and refinish, but I need the $ right now. The points are not all 4 even, but very sharp. That tells me that it is what it is: Either a full splice, or hand inlaid. I've never owned a cue of quality with perfectly matched up points, except for milled inlay.

Cool looking cue. Are rollouts easily fixable for cue-makers?
Figured I would keep the NC thing going from Raleigh.
Thanks,
Chris.

Hi, like I said, the rollout in the cue butt is caused by the buttsleeve, which is behind the normal grip area, it is where the buttsleeve meets the wrap. Not an issue, unless you grip it at the butt end for most shots. Even then, it's not but slight. The buttsleeve would have to be removed, and reassembled to the handle, using a new pilot dowel, more than likely.

Hi, could be from Taiwan. My guess is that it is from the mid to late 80's. I really don't have any real info on this, nor can I find any. No listings in the bluebook for "Stratford" In some ways, makes it even more interesting

For a cheap import there was a great deal of work in these cues, and the ones I have seen played pretty nice also.

Good Luck with your sale

I have seen this cue first hand and played a few racks with it. And in my opinion the best cue for sale on this site for the money. Good luck John. Brian
