Drawknife.................

Call me, and I'll give you the answer to that question...lol..one of the manufactures other than Olhausen that uses accufast rubber is Kasson Billiards.

when you have to buy 12/4 solid wood to build 1 3/4" inch thick rails, thats a lot of wasted wood, because 8/4 won't do it. Getting the picture now as to why Olhausen's rails are 1 1/2" thick?

There is nothing wrong with being economical. :) You know as well as I do they cater to the residential customer. I think the majority of "players" prefer a Diamond over anything. I don't think anyone would dispute that. Olhausen has the residential market with the help of a dealer network, which Diamond doesn't have.

Olhausen tables play great. I think they need some cosmetic changes in their commercial tables, a pocket angle and shelf adjustment.

That's a very small market place and Olhausen is the leader in the industry, so they need to stay focused on the home owners market as
China really has their eye on it. They need to be carefull as the buyers in the market place turn more and more everyday to the tables being built in China...and sold here. Every table built in China, and sold here is one less Olhausen table on the market. Even as a secondry line up of tables to sell to the public, every table sold becomes final. One more for China, one less for the US.

I laughed at a guy in Oregon that wanted to build coin-operated pool tables with me, when he told me he believed in "Made in America" and that's what he wanted to promote about the tables he was building...I laughed as I walked out the door, because all his tool that he was building pool tables with, were made in China!!!

Didn't Kasson go under last month.
PoolSchool I do agree with you about Olhausen's furniture style tables and Connelly's frames being better constructed.I just don't agree to the cushions lasting longer etc.I think when it comes to products made in China American's think cheap and that's part of Olhausen advertising.I don't care where the cushions or the table comes from as long as it holds up to my standards.Olhausen used Championship cushions on tables before they came out with Accu-Fast.I'm replacing a set this evening.

Accufast will hold up... I have replaced numerous Superspeed cushion sets and I have never replaced one Accufast cushion. Like I said I have resilience testes to prove this theory.

I haven't replaced any Accu-Fast Cushions either.I'm just saying Olhausen has claims to why there cushion is the best and so does Brunswick.Diamond doesn't use Acc-Fast or SuperSpeed cushions and there the prefered table by the pro's.I just asked what proof does any company have to stand behind there claims.Other then because one said so on there web site or one of the founders makes the claim.

And like I said... I have proof... Do you think Diamond would turn down the chance to use Accufast on their table if it were available? Artemis is what pro's prefer and Diamond makes this available but not standard.

The "best" is more of a sales pitch and nothing more. Ford claims to build the "best" pickup truck on the market, Dodge would disagree, Chevrolet would also argue the point...but ultimately the consumer will decide what's "best" for them...when they by into the "best" sales pitch that works "best" for them...end of story, because it's all about marketing and sales.

Agree.
I 've been to Olhausen and Brunswick sale training and they have there claims and just like my questions here I asked them the same. All I got was a sale's pitch no proof other then."Because we say so".....
