IMO, KT and Sigel need to bow out of commentating. The sooner the better. The third guy is good at scripted parts but he doesn't know boo about pool.

The 3rd guy is from poker announcing I think. I think they did the opposite of what they should have done. I think the 3rd guy is trying to do a serious job of it despite not being involved in the pool world.
They should have got the guy from the WSOP with the mustache who is always talking about his ex wife or divorce and always ragging out the players be the comic goofy fellow playing up to the hype... or maybe Gabe Kaplan do it with a bit more dry humor, and Hopkins or someone else who has experience and does a serious and credible job, but laughs at his sidekick and taunts his sidekick while giving credible pool commentary.
Gabe Kaplan or the WSOP guy could make comments about Allison being a girl..can she really beat the guy she is playing? Hopkins gives a nervous laugh while drawing up a pattern for her to run out for the set, says Allison is a world champion, and asks Gabe if he wants to challenge her... then after she runs out to perfection how Hopkins drew it up, he tells his sidekick she ran that out perfectly and now is his chance between matches to see if she wants to play some....and to bring plenty of money...

It's funny, when I watched the airing of the IPT last night and listened to Mike and all his comments, I laughed at HIM! Because I knew he got dusted by Efren in the finals. All his talking seemed childish, like he's trying to re-live "the good old days" when he is far beyond those glory years of his. Also, putting down almost every single player that they were highlighting!! This guy is an idiot!! ALL the players that he dissed would make him look silly - any one of them, just like how Efren did in the finals.
I highly doubt he will ever feel, or even whiff the smell of even getting close to any finals again. But I will have a ball seeing him TRY!!!
Sorry, but I don't think he'll be talking much trash this upcoming year, especially now that he has to start from the bottom just like everyone else...heehee!
If marketing, pool, and player knowledge is important---They should have hired Earl Strickland do the commentary instead of playing in the IPT.That would have built a viewer base.

If anyone remembers Mikes "glory days" they should have a little more respect for the guy. He was, is and always will be one of the best players of all time. "The Mouth" thing they are trying to portray is an angle to build suspense etc (all for ratings). Mike is a bit of a loudmouth at times, but Trudeau is having him up it several notches to create a bit of drama.
And as far as Sigels game goes, I would put money on him against pretty much anyone in the IPT. The only players who stand a strong chance against him are guys like Efren, Earl, Archer, and Bustamante.... sorry, but its true. Sigel could still compete against anyone playing today. Dominate the game..... depends on his desire, not his ability.
