I am sorry but it is hard to take a female's opinion on this seriously. I mean, do you even know anyone who can play?

wtf??? Are you just yanking our chain? And how many times have you been in billiard magazines...?

If by any chance Phoebe also thought it was not a joke, it was. I was just kidding! Schmohawk is quite aware of power pool couple.

Yes, I have to second cuechick's, "Are you on crack?" remark. Phoebe Choy is Alex Pagulayan's girlfriend and mother of their baby! ROFLMAO!

She's also a good player in her own right.

And are you putting down all females' opinions on this??? It looks like you are the one who is uninformed.

I believe that is babies!

Mr. Bruin if you paid attention Cuechick spelled SIEGLE wrong to start the thread, LCampbell the correct spelling is Sigel maybe he'll apologize for not being nic JMO.

I just wanted post an apology for spelling Mr. Sigel's name wrong. I (wrongly) assumed that the person starting the thread had used the correct spelling, I thought it would be easier (and faster) to use that spelling than look for a page that I was sure had the correct spelling, being that I am on dial up.

duly noted.

I am surprised that nobody else caught it. but when corey was playing did'nt mike say he was from southern california. I don't remember who he was playing. maybe it was raj hundal. kevin asked mike if he had ever seen hundal play and mike said no but that he has played corey a few times and he said corey was from southern california..since when. i always thought corey was from ohio.... is my memory correct. did anybody else catch that.....mike

Speaking of Raj, I didn't care for the way the announcer pronounced his last name, like Hun-dell', instead of Hundal. I noticed Raj pronounced it like Bundle. Otherwise, I like the announcer's voice.

I caught it Mike.

I just blew it off as one of the many things MS screwed up.

gerda can play ....also there is one girl i know who is in the i.p.t. that i would back against you any day....you haven't heard of her yet , but you will.....

I watched the tape of the 3rd show last night and have to agree with the initial idea of this thread. I'm seriously considering watching the last few with the mute button on.

Announcer guy #1 is awful. I'm not sure if he knows the game or not, but he sounds like he doesn't. He constantly cuts off the other guys when they're talking and seems to be reading from a script during other parts.

Sigel just needs to get over himself. I know his playing history and would agree that he is possibly the best player ever. Having said that, the constant ego trip he's on is way past old. I can't wait to see the final match just so I won't have to listen to his ignorant and ego driven commentary.

Kevin hasn't really said enough to make a difference in the booth.

And the blonde interviewer? C'mon...

I don't know about you guys, but I actually like Sigel in the booth. In terms of pool strategy and knowledge, can anyone say that he doesn't know what he's talking about? Again, far far better than LJJ commentating in the Reyes vs. Sigel DVD.

As far as the ego thing...that's just him, and it's also the producers telling him to talk it up. It's great for TV. Heck, we're talking about it...so that can only be good.

But what's funny is that in all likelihood, he probably did all this commentary on an edited videotape of the matches AFTER the KOTH tournament was concluded (I don't think he found the time to do this while the tournament was going on, and it's pretty obvious he wasn't doing this live). In other words, he was still playing up his ego in his commentary AFTER he got spanked by Efren. It'll be interesting to see how he commentates on Efren's matches in the next two episodes.

There will be two upcoming matches that ya'll really need to pay extra attention to. They are Bustamante vs. Manalo and Reyes vs. Manalo. I think I remember this forum being overrun with chat about what happened during those matches when it happened last December, but for the folks that don't remember, I'll hold off on spilling the beans. I'm certain that when they air those two matches, we'll be talking about them both. I'm curious how the IPT production will play them both out.

Corey was born in Santa Barbara, which is considered Southern California, maybe that's where the announcer got it from. At least that's what I read in a magazine, it surprised me too.

He spent most of his youth in the Philly area before moving to Ohio somewhere around 17? Jimmy Caras actually taught him a bit I heard.

Deno should chime in, but as far as I heard, every match was post-commentaried (is that a word?).

Mike was too busy running 8-packs on the practice table.

The commentary by Sigel, et al., IMHO, was done post matches.

I did see a commentator booth with three mics on the second level of the venue site where Kevin Trudeau and the two lady commentators were being filmed and recorded, but I haven't seen any of those commentaries to date on the three episodes already aired.

The blond lady commentator's name was Danielle, I think. She was very friendly and nice, shown here posing with some of the guys, Corey, Shawn, and Aaron.

I'd imagine that the commentary bits were done *months* after the event was done - giving Sigel time to get over the aforementioned spanking. :)

One giveaway that the commentary was done after the event is simply the timing - if they were commenting on-the-spot, Sigel and the other guy could only really comment on ONE match at a time - and considering the number of matches they were filming, I sincerly doubt they had any interest in locking themselves into only presenting the matches Sigel/TOG happened to be watching at the time. They simply filmed a lot of matches, picked the ones they wanted to present, edited them down, and recorded commentary afterwards (note that the commentary doesn't seem to skip a beat, despite the obvious editing of the match footage).

Another giveaway is when KT, Sigel and "the other guy" are standing around with microphones chatting it up at the beginning/end of each show - you can tell that they were just filmed against a green-screen, and superimposed on a still shot of the tournament venue. Likely they just did one bit, went and changed suits, came back, did another bit, etc. all at once.
