I live about 5 miles from a great room. Unfortunately the next great room is about an hour away and Charlotte is an hour and a half, but I make those drives occasionally as well.

To play on bar boxes, I walk to the garage, or across the road to my buddy's garage. To play on Diamond 9fters, about 70 miles round trip. I could goto a smaller hall about 15 minutes away, but they don't take care of their tables. So I would rather drive to The Varsity Club in Oshkosh, WI.

For enjoyment under 5 miles tournaments under 2 hours

On average how far do you drive to go shoot pool on a regular basis? 5, 15, 30 or more miles? Just trying to get some feedback on average trips. Thanks for your responses!

For enjoyment under 5 miles! For tournaments under 2 hours! (100 Miles)

I have about 100 9'ers within 25mi from my house and 3 or 4 places within 10mi...

But their equipment and conditions pale, in comparison to my basement.

Play with myself a lot.:o

i drive 3 miles there and 3 miles back everyday for practice and play with friends ( crappy balls so i use my own and 9 ft tables but cloth in terrible shape). when it is a tournament (last night) i have to drive 21 miles there and back. (better tables, aramith balls and all 9 footers)

Thanks for all the responses so far. Yes, I am reading every single response and taking notes. I am doing some leg work and trying to get some ideas at the moment.

Many days I walk 1.25 Miles each way.

Uphill? Barefoot? Through the snow?

I can find poor quality bar boxes within a few miles of my home...but generally we make a 60 mile round trip to play at the Cue Ball in Salem, OR. It's probably one of a very few "no alcohol served" halls left in the country.

My pool hall is 20 miles away, door to door. I go down few times per week but never in rush hour traffic.

At least 2-3 times a week, I drive 40 miles to a pool hall. It doesnt matter which one, they are all 40 miles away from me.

The other 4 days a week, I drive 2 miles to a local club that has a beautiful 1893 Brunswick 9 footer that is all by itself in the basement. Nobody but me and a couple friends use it. The cloth is garbage, but I'm pushing for a complete table overhaul. Then maybe I will spend 5 days there.

I used to drive about 2 miles from work to play regularly at a bar with 9' Kassens that have buckets for pockets. The place has five 9-footers and eight 8-footers.

And after playing for several hours for free, I would then have to drive home about 11 miles or so. Pool was free for me because I used to run a weekly in-house league in this place for about 10 years. Even though that ended a number of years ago, the manager still let me play for free. I tipped well. ;)

Ever since I bought my 9' Pro Am home table about 3 years ago, I literally don't play anywhere else except on rare occasion.

My table is in my (now) refinished garage... so I walk about 5 steps from my kitchen into my garage.

And the real beauty of having my table inside the garage is the fact that I equipped it with a powerful multi-speed exhaust fan in one window, which allows me to freely smoke cigars without offending anyone.

I have to drive 150 miles just to make it to land. next to Tommy Kennedy ( the 2 million mile man )..that's his life time est. I'm second.

On average I walk 47 feet from my office to my pool table (5 times a week).
On average I walk 1/2 mile to the local bar to shoot pool (twice a week).
I drive 3 miles to a local pool hall to shoot (once a week).
