On The Road Again with Perfect Aim....

glad your feeling better, take it slow for a few days. and see how you feel, if your still dizzy you should see the doc again. im sure you will be fine from what you described

Using ice and seems to help...........

Yeah, what Dave said....
JoeyA

There is a bright side to everything. Ice seems to be mine right now.

And this morning everything didn't look foggy like everyday before this.

Hard to exercise like this but I'm going to do the best I can.

I guess I better send in my entry before it gets filled up from the way it looks.

Sounds like a plan to me.

Thanks Joey on the heads up..........

Spent 7 hours at the hospital today......

It's been 9 days since the accident and I still feel like I'm walking around in a dream so I went to a chiropractor. I told them what was going on and they said they wouldn't touch me. They gave me the address of the hospital here in Davenport.

I headed over there and got checked in. It turns out that the guy that does the MRI's
was at the other hospital across town.

After they did all the other tests they had to do I waited for about 2 1/2 hours for the MRI guy.

My brain is OK, that's the good thing. He told me that if I don't stop driving around feeling like I'm in a dream it won't be though. He was referring to me getting in another accident.

When your driving around like i am i might cause one.

The bad news was I definitely have a concusion and I had a narrowing of the bones that the spinal cord goes through right where the vertabra start getting bigger right at the base of the neck. Not good.

He gave me the MRI disk and told me I should show it to my regular doctor.

As soon as my thinker gets a little quicker i'll be right back in business.

He said give it a couple more weeks for sure.

So it looks like you guys are going to have to put up with me for awhile longer.

One man a van and just a little banged up.:banghead::bash::yes:

.

My brain is OK,

.

Well Gene, that's been debatable for a long time

I can say this because I was hit by a train when I was 17 and have heard the "brain damage" jokes ever since lol..

Take care my friend. And please drive as little as possible. Don't want to be hearing about any more accidents.

Woody

Wow!!!!!!!!! headache went away at 4:00 PM today.....

I was starting to worry.

Got an MRI yesterday and some other tests. The neurologist told me that it usually takes about 7 to 10 days for a concussion to start feeling better.

If I was a football player I don't know how they can even go back in the game after that.

I've had 3 concussions in my life. Once i fell on the ice and hit the back of my head. The other 2 were rear end collisions.

The good news is that my brain looks good.

My memory is still pretty bad but it must be getting better because I can remember that I don't remember finally.

I'm still in Davenport selling cable. I was starting to wonder if i could do this.

I'm hoping to get my memory back.

Wouldn't it be cool if you could just forget the things that you want to.:p

So the window is back open for lessons here. Nice being in the middle of the USA.

The most anyone would have to drive is about 12 hours at the most.

The record drive for a Perfect Aim lesson is 9 hours. I made that drive myself to teach one person.

Of course that turned into a whole lot more.

I might even give a discount on my next lesson. But I don't think I forgot how to teach Perfect aim.

Can't wait to get back to work having fun..........

Perfect Aim is on the move again........

My neck isn't 100% for sure but I'm on the move again teaching and playing.

The first stop is Dubuque, Iowa and Cue masters. They have a great little handicap tournament this weekend so that will be a first step on my quest of staying on the road.

I'm going to have to take it easy for awhile but I'm sure I can play some.

Just got a call in Davenport to do a lesson with a billiard player on the billiard table before i head off.

Then I already have one scheduled for Dubuque.

I can't hardly wait to get the wheels rolling again.

I'm going to stay for a week in Dubuque so anyone close can come there and learn Perfect Aim.

One man a van and the road.......again.........

Made it to Dubuque and Q Masters...........

Got a nice room. I must be getting better. I'm having trouble sleeping. For about 5 days after the accident I was sleeping about 12 to 13 hours a day. I'd wake up allot from the neck pain but still slept for a long time.

Back to business right now. This is my passion and this is what I love. Pool and teaching the most amazing technique in the world.

I've done everything I can do for 4 years now teaching Perfect Aim and don't plan on stopping quite yet. I still have a few miles left on this body of mine. This little accident just reminds me though how quick it can be over. But there is enough info out there now with Perfect Aim that someone would for sure pick up the ball and roll with it. Some already have.

They don't know I'm coming at Q Masters but they will in about 2 hours.

What I do when I go to a new poolroom is I introduce myself to the owner. Explain why I'm there and how I plan on beefing up their business a little by helping their players play better in turn making them want to play more. Good for business and good for the players.

Then I offer a free Perfect Aim lesson to anyone of their choice. They could do it or their son or daughter or their favorite player at their establishment.

In exchange for the free lesson all I ask is that i don't pay for table time while I'm there for the week working. When I'm not teaching I would like to work on my game if there is time between lessons. Never tying up a table when they're real busy though.

It's a win win situation for everyone. Plus I'll stir up a little action playing the local [players $100 or $200 sets when I can.

Also I do free mini lessons for the league players. I set up a table and give all the players a little sample of Perfect Aim. Just knowing some of this will help a player immensely so the players that can't take advantage of a personal lesson will learn some good stuff also.

I usually end up doing a free lesson or 2 anyway with some of the local kids or a very deserving customer.

I stopped at Q masters last night to check it out. Pretty nice place. They have 2 9 ft diamonds 1 gold crown and about a dozen or so well kept bar boxes. Also a nice bar. It's actually set up pretty good.

There is a handicap tourny this weekend so I will get to talk to allot of players. The hard part is when I play it's hard to talk as much as I'd like to because I'm trying to rest between matches but with my head still in a fog I'll probably have plenty of time after I get knocked out real quick.

And then again i might just not play so I can work with as many players as possible.

In a setup like this all it takes is one or 2 lessons and they start telling everyone else how much it helps. Soon I have a half dozen.

This week will tell the story if I go to Tunica for that big tourny. I don't want to go there with an empty gun and right now that is how i feel about my pool game.

Just like my headache going away about 3 days ago, the rest of my faculties might come back also.

I've still been eating right but I need to start exercising tonight.

What a wonderful game. Not only me but players all over the world that get hurt or sick have the game of pool to motivate us to get the health back on track. Just about all of us have had to overcome something to play pool again.

In this case the game of pool is not only the teacher as CJ so often says but the game is also the Hero, testing the hearts of thousands of players all over the world. Helping them back to health with the desire to play the game and compete.

The Game Is the Hero.....and we are definitely the recipients.

One man a van and the road....My short term goal is getting ready for Tunica.......

This is my second rear ended accident............

I got hit allot harder back in 1986. The gal was going about 55 or 60 with no skid marks. They said back then that i was luck I didn't get killed. The toyota Carolla I was driving was about 3 feet shorter after the accident. A guy named Jeff Karker stopped by the house to look at the wreck and he asked me if the guy that was driving the toyota lived. He saw the accident happen. He didn't know i was driving so I told him that the poor guy didn't have a chance. I had a little fun with it. He was a bar tender at the bar I played pool at back then. . I had an Olds 98 in front of me and an olds 88 that hit me. That was back when they were as big as houses.

I think what made this worse is that the damage that was done before only got much better as far a healing. Kind of like having a broken leg and trying to run on it 2 weeks later and not healed up.

I'm sure you still have trouble Woody, from your accident still for sure.

My biggest problem right now is i feel like I can't hold my head still. I feel like a bobblehead doll only in slow motion. I can't keep my head still. it keeps drifting. My neck doesn't feel strong enough to hold my head still. .

I don't know how long this will take to get stronger. I don't want to work out and hurt it and I do need to work out to make it stronger.

Back to the drawing board of trying to get healthy. One day at a time.

The good news is I'm still playing and teaching.

I did a few lessons yesterday and i have to say I really felt like toast after I was done. I was so wore out I could hardly drive back to the room.

Today I'm really stiff and sore but just sore. I don't feel like I'm broke in half anymore.

Stiff and sore I can handle.

Now i just have to ramp up the pool game again.

This weekend though is almost mission impossible. The physical ability is just not there.

I'm still going to have a great time though.

Just add a room full of players and a Perfect Aim teacher like me and you have the magic ingredient of fun popping up all over.

Unlike playing I can teach until I can't stand up anymore and that I will do for sure.

See you all there.

Get yourself in the gym GENO so you can get healthy and in good stroke! Then when you are ready you will take Bartram off like a mack truck!

Now that's funny stuff.............

Get yourself in the gym GENO so you can get healthy and in good stroke! Then when you are ready you will take Bartram off like a mack truck!

But a thought. If I had his picture to hang up I could look at it for motivation.

Just kidding Chris,. I need all the motivation I can get right now.

That was a good one though Bob............

Good luck everyone.........

Only hours before the Tournament............

You know it doesn't matter if it's a $10 entry or $500 entry.

I get the same excited feeling every time.

That's what is so nice about this great game of ours.

When your right there and in the moment it's always big and it's always fun.

If you don't make the balls the other guy will.

This is a handicap tourny so it turns many players into little monsters just waiting to knock you out.

Good Luck everyone wherever your at trying to take it down today.

One man a van and the road.

Geno, I'm really sorry to hear about your miss hap with the motor home. Thank God it wasn't worse. I owned a 1990 21' Toyota motor home for about 14 years. My wife and I took it over the Rockie Mountains twice. We lived in it for 5 years. We sure had a lot of good times in it. We got a real good buy on a 1999 5TH wheel trailer so we sold the Toyota. I miss it.

Do you still give free phone lessons?

I SURE DO.

Just call Monday or Tuesday and be by a table.

We'll get you on track. Talk to you soon. 715-563-8712.............

We are still in the Philippines. We leave for America on July 3RD. It's a very long flight so give me a few days to rest up, then I will call you. Thanks much my friend. Anxious to talk to you. I have to call you on a cell phone, that OK? Thanks again.
