On The Road Again with Perfect Aim....

I just have an issue with him singling Chris out when he NO CHANCE on any table, and Gene most certainly knows it.... Difference between Chris and Gene and the members here is that there are only 2 posters Chris can't play even and only 2 or 3 that play his speed. There are at least 15 I can think of, maybe more than that in actuality, that Gene can't beat day in, day out. Like you've heard me say in the past month or so, theres at least 15 guys in Ohio that Gene can't beat day in day out. Players in Ohio that can beat Chris day in day out? Zero. And I think you know from our talks on the phone and text messages that I'm pretty good at clocking things like this.....

Like Chris said, he's an average player..... Now that translates different to us "mortal" players. What we consider average and what Chris considers average are two completely different things..... When I first started playing pool the guy I took lessons off of was one of the sharpest cats to ever teach pool, and him seeing that I was an action kind of guy gave me a lot of great advice on it. He said when judging my speed, or others, in real terms you have to look at it from a top to bottom approach.... Earl, Johnny, Alex, Orcullo, Efren, they play GREAT, guys like Chris, John Schmidt, Oscar, Donny Mills, they play GOOD, and when it comes to guys like the majority of the rest of us here on AZ, we don't play so good.

You get an A for clocking things like this.

Is there such a thing as clocking school? Oh wait, we already got lesson number 1. Look at it from a top to bottom approach.

I think Chris will now have to adjust his personal recognition of his own talent and move it from average to above average.

When I said "Like Chris said, he's an average player..... ", I was referring to Gene, not Chris..... LOL

Oh what I wouldn't give for the world to understand this.

Tough day yesterday.........

I ate some cookies. I've been able to get away with that to a certain extent lately.

I played one pocket for a few hours with Dick after hanging out for about 4 hours.

Then i played Bobby Sr a race to 9 10 ball.

Then I played Bobby Jr a race to 9 10 ball.

I got hungry and ate a sandwich during my race with JR. My blood sugar jumped way up and my heart would even race. My body was in a panic.

When this happens other parts of the body start to hurt also because of the blood supply to them is kind of bad. They are being starved. . My surgically repaired right shoulder gets real weak and it did.

Played good with Jr for about 5 racks. The rest of the match was a disaster. Bob Jr could see this and he even agreed to finish the match tomorrow.

Bob Sr and Jr are true friends of mine. We don't really gamble when we play but are just having a little fun.

My bllod sugar is right today and me and Bobby will have some more fun.

Plus there will be action all over the place today.

I'm ready and might end up in the box with someone else.

Bobby will have to wait if this happens.

And I'm ready today. No COOKIES>>

Turns out I was the action..............

I went to Brickyard to see Brian Groce maybe play Justin Bergman but Justin never came.

Johnny Neils and his dad did come so i got into action with him.

We just played some $200 sets. The first one was kind of rough for both of us.

I was running out to get on the hill and I missed a shot. Johnny ran out and asked if I wanted to play win by 2 and I agreed.

I won the next 2 games and we played another but instead of 9 this time we played to 7.

I hit a gear and started getting comfortable playing for the cash. I havn't hardly played anyone except Bartram and Steve over in Columbus for a long time and one $4,000 set to 21 in Beloit.

It doesn't matter if your playing for $100 or $4,000, you need to get comfortable playing for something. I finally got there.

Got ahead of johnny 6-1 and there was nothing he could do about it.

Except play real tough and grind it out getting to 4 before he got a bad roll.

A made a tough out to put it away.

This is the first time since my concussion 5 or 6 months ago that I really felt good playing.

I'm going to play him again tomorrow. I didn't scare him one bit. i know he's been playing real good for awhile now.

It should be fun.

This is what it's all about. Being able to play and compete.

I might even win a tournament soon again.

One man a van and the road.......

Nice win for you Gene. You playing top speed now. You gonna get in stroke like last time only this time stay in stroke and go take somebody off. If you want to play me I want same spot Bartram gives me.

That would be tough.........

For practice among friends we need to keep it cheap and have fun getting in stroke.

Tough to give you a spot because your very capable.

I should be playing Johnny neal some more tonight.

Arm, hand and shoulder kept going numb all night but i think I can still play.

Need to find out how your action last night turned out.

Sounds like you had a tiger ny the tail and was betting some money?

See ya down at the Brickyard Billiards.

This place is by far one of the funnest pool halls in the USA. There's always something going on. everyone is trying to gamble.

And just the right atmosphere to get my game snapped back into shape.

Did you go to gym today?

The Tiger had me by tail and I got lucky and only lost a few bucks. Brickyard is a nice place you are right. Fun to go down and know you are gonna get to bet some money playing pool everyday. Good luck to you in your match-up tonight.

Geno

Need an update on you and Johnny?

Did you get him again? Or did he get his money back?

Did Justin ever show up? or was that game just a rumor which was not scheduled to begin with?

Good luck

i dont know if the game was supposed to go off or not but 500 mile round trip for justin to not get played is a rough trip...

Gene please stop with the Bartram match. Bartram proved his point more than adequately. Your game will need to improve a lot to get there. Just let it go and focus on your teaching. You clearly can play but you are not in Chris' league now. You might have been at one point in your life but I have to wonder why I never heard of you in the 80s and 90s? Minimum in the 90s your name would have come up as a shortstop at least with some gamble but I have to be brutally honest and say that until you showed up on this forum I never heard of you.

In the 90s I traveled the USA back and forth hitting every poolroom I could find and I liked to gamble a little and play every tournament I could. I NEVER heard of you anywhere. Now that by itself doesn't mean anything but I honestly don't know anyone who ever heard of you either.

Look I respect what you are doing and respect that you are running around helping people to play better pool. But please stop with the concept that you are pro speed because you clearly are not. And I don't mean just based on the match with Chris. I feel like you did pretty good there considering you played him on his table. But the tale of the tape was the telling part. You simply don't have the game to hang with pros in anything but short sets. Maybe you once did but you don't now.

My advice is just congratulate Chris sincerely and admit that you were completely outclassed. Then focus on all the positive you are accomplishing. I really do enjoy most of what you write and look forward to your adventures.

Best,

John

For once, I agree with JB. A rematch with Chris would be a pointless waste of money.

IMO, you would be better off saving your money for medical expenses and other necessities.

Let Gene do it again, and prove being the Master of Perfect Aiming is all the Arrows you need in your Quiver of Arrows. IMHO you need more than One Arrow to bring to any contest of skill, and IMHO Pool is a game of skill.
