On The Road Again with Perfect Aim....

When I first saw this I went YES>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Retinal Field of Vision

This is an interesting read.

John

When i first saw this I now knew why it works.

There is only one spot for the eyes to be on any particular shot and this is why.

When Doc Hutch showed me this I knew now that I had medical proof as to why Perfect Aim is the real truth to getting the eyes right.

Unless a player knows how to get the eyes right you keep missing the same shots all the time.

A player has to know not only where this sight is but be able to keep it there all the way down because this vision keeps changing from the preshot down to the shot.

Once this is mastered and only until then, can a player zero in on a shot just as though they were shooting a rifle. Now you know where the sights are on the pool shot.

This is why you always hear about good results when i teach someone perfect Aim.

I just figured out how the eyes naturally work.

Will this info and pictures put me out of the teaching business? Not hardly.

To put this together it has taken years.

But this is why Perfect Aim works so well and for everyone.

I just show them how to get to that Perfect Position for them so they can envision the shot as good as humanly possible.

You can hit a million balls and try to get there naturally over many years going backwards if you don't shoot for a few days

or

You can learn perfect Aim and get there right away cutting down on countless hours of trying to get there from repetition.

You still need the repetition but this cuts the time into almost half.

And once taught this a player can see with their own eyes that the picture to the brain is right,.

Good Job there John............

I'd suggest players look at image 14.4 in that article. Click on the PLAY button and watch as one eye sees (a ball) differently than the other. It's no wonder why some miss certain shots.

Good find,

Jeff Livingston

Thanks Jeff................and Gene........It is not my intent to put you out of business. :)

What got me interested in what my eyes were actually seeing started with Gene and Perfect Aim.

I have conducted some experiments on my own to try to get to the bottom of what is going on with my vision and the way my vision perceives pool shot lines.

This is one experiment I set up:
Place an OB and QB diagonally in the center of the table about 2' apart. Using a straight edge, arrange both balls straight into a corner pocket, remove the straight edge.
Stand behind the QB (a cue sticks length) do not look at the QB yet. Move your body until your eyes see the OB straight into the corner pocket. When you feel you are locked in look down at the QB then look at the OB. Does the shot look straight in to you? Physically the balls are straight in but your eyes are telling you something different.
This is what I would call "Retinal Disparity". The only way I have been able to correct for this is to use my eyes to line up my chin on the shot line, not using either eye but using both. Works for me.

Mikery (Mike) got me on a track to help with this issue.......thanks Mike.

Jeff thanks for your post.

Gene, I'm still waiting for my lesson. I turned 67 April 3rd and don't know how many years I have left.

Not trying to hijack Gene's thread. This will be the last post I make on this subject.

Have Fun

Ah youth. What a shame too waste it on the young.

Hi John,
I know you have followed what i teach and you know that it flat out works.

It's because the eyes only work one way.

The only difference is some are more dominant than others.

After 5 years of dedication to traveling and teaching I have all the completed pieces to the puzzle.

There is no way that someone can just sit in one place and figure this all out. it took 100's of lessons and seeing the same thing over and over.

Figuring out little nuggets here and there that will help you envision some shots well are great but there are too many pieces.

I don't how to tell the world that I have this all figured out except to help individuals one at a time envision the shots better than they ever have before.

I wish we could have hooked up while I was there because you would have all the answers for sure.

The biggest problem is that the eyes take turns cutting balls to the right and to the left. One is dominant and the other is non dominant. This creates some big trouble for the brain if you let the brain just try to sort this out.

I could put this all down in writing with a book and still players would not get it right.

The video is good to learn with but I send a letter with every video telling them to call me for the Free phone lesson. Without this the players are not getting the whole picture especially if they have not identified the correct dominant eye.

I'm a little banged up right now with my neck or I might be coming through St Louis soon.

Got a traction unit for my neck and after using it for 2 days played in a tournament. Had less pain and the arms worked pretty well. Beat about 4 of the top players in Minneapolis coming through the losers bracket.

The problem was that I have hardly played for about 2 weeks and only in a couple of tournaments before that with bad results physically.

I'm signed up for 4 Bears casino in New town ND. I wasn't going to go. But I am going to play some today and the next day and then i will make my decision.

If this traction thing works this well I might just go. I lose control of my arms and hands a little with the whole right arm feeling very tired. it's hard to play when this happens. it feels like the arm is about 100 pounds.

Arm still feels strong today. Can't wait to go hit some and see the results physlcally.

If not good i will have to skip 4 Bears. And what a great tournament.

And thanks John for the thread you started with Tor's 14 days. This guy is doing some great things for pool.

And it's great for players everywhere to hear about what is happening.

Tomorrow I make the decision on 4 Bears.......

I saw the Neurosurgeon 2 days ago and he wants me to try therapy and traction for my neck and spine.

I had physical therapy today and the guy just moved my neck around and tried to loosen up the things with his fingers while I turned my head this way and that way. he worked on me for about an hour.

Both of my arms are starting to get weak. I got a compression sleeve to put on my right arm to help my strength when I play.

The therapy guy said it didn't look to good. I have c5 and c4 that are pressing against the spinal cord and 2 and 3 are locked up tighter than a drum.

After he worked on me though I could see real clear. My vision was blurry before that. Must have something to do with the spinal cord getting pinched.

If I feel OK tomorrow I'm going to 4 bears. What a great event.

But if not I will have to cancel.

Ain't looking good though.

Great tourny here at 4 bears in New Town ND.

Great setup and the money is unreal.

Won my first match on forfeit so i have plenty of time to sleep.

Play at 9:00 AM in the morning.

Ray Hansen, Big truck is doing a great job as usual.

Can't wait to get it on tomorrow.

It don't get any better than this............

chiropractors can do a LOT. (and they are cheaper than physical therapists.) and once you learn what needs to be done, you can teach your son to do them to you.

i have heard good things with acupuncture, too.

just FYI before you go under the knife.
be well.

Hey Gene,
This is Bernard, we talked at the Texas open, Give me a call 210-639-9701, I am living in Korea right now but number rings like it is in San Antonio. I can set you up with all the lessons you can teach here. lets talk...

Played pretty well at 4 bears.

Finally It was down to 4 players.

SVB, cory Duell, Rory Henrickson and Myself.

Great tourny but 4th was the end of the road for me. Tank was empty.

Heading home with with a little extra cash

Tank was empty or you would have beat any of those 3 guys. Gene, try giving some credit to those that beat you. It's never "He played better than me. It's always "If I didn't have this or that all of a sudden". Johnnyt

Johnnyt,

I watched Gene's match with Rory and Rory plays VERY WELL Rory doesn't have to lose to anyone playing 8 ball, at least from what I can see.

However, I know that Gene missed a couple of shots that he would normally make routinely. He had trouble breaking up balls at the end and getting out line on others. This happened toward the end of the tournament. I think Gene's excuse for not winning may be valid, even though it is an excuse. Gene should have been doing more cardiovascular workouts prior the the event. Rory is not spring chicken but he edged Gene out by not making as many mistakes.

I get what you are saying though. Rory just played a little better on shape than Gene did in that last match.

I think Gene is trying to explain his perceived reasons for losing and I think Gene believes that he doesn't have to lose to anyone playing 8ball on the bar table. He may be right, when he is fresh or when he was 40 years old.

Who knows Gene and Rory might be a great FIGHT NIGHT match down the road?

Nice doing business with you this weekend Geno. See when you get to feeling better.

There's always 3 things to fall back on.

Tank's empty
Didn't get no sleep
Back hurt
