here is what the ad said-
This table has been in use at my pool hall for several years and considered the greatest innovation in commercial grade tables ever developed. Been the pool hall favorite and college game rooms too for 50 years. This is a GC3. Still plays like new, has recent new cushions and can be put right to work with maybe some new cloth, although this can still be used for quite a while yet. Closed my pool hall so I selling a lot of tables, cue racks, BILLIARDS neon sign along with most of the bar equipment. More listings to come. Building is sold and new owners want it for a different purpose. Not asking much for this table. Come and get it or I may be able to deliver if not too far from Duluth. Listing says delivery $200 but it may be more or less depending on logistics.

I called the seller Jerry yesterday to see if I could get him to make things right, but he said to me...what do you expect for only paying $1,250 for a GC3?...my reply was NOT a GC made up of GC2 rails, GC3 rail skirts...that are lag bolted to the bottoms of the rails leaving a 3/4" gap between the skirts and rails to be clearly seen, a GC4 frame...and in your add, you stated new cushions had been recently installed....which is a BS lie as the GC2 rails still have the original Monarch cushions on them.

I have to do something to fix this table to be right, or if this table was to ever be sold again to someone else, Wendy would once again be selling someone a Frankenstein GC.

When I asked Jerry to make this table right by either sending a set of GC3 rails, or at least sending out a set of GC2 rail skirts, I'd return what ever he'd send to replace with...his responce was..."can't you just make it work, I do that all the time" I asked him in return, can't you just give my customer what she paid you for...a GC3 instead of a table consisting of parts that don't match up?...which is neither a GC2 OR GC3! The skirts on a GC2 hinge onto the rails, the skirts on a GC3 bolt to the rails...and both fit the rails they're designed to be mounted to, but to combine the different skirts and rails requires the skirts to be lag bolted to the bottoms of the rails, which leaves a 3/4" gap between the bottom of the rails and the tops of the skirts in which you can clearly see the alum extrusion for mounting the GC2 style of skirts. Like I said, I'll post pictures shortly.

I gave Jerry a chance to make it right, but I didn't care for his reply "what do you expect for $1,250"...and that he'd sue me if I made this deal public....well, the truth is in the product that was recieved, not in the words that sold it.

Glen

I think I know who he is...on ebay he is pooltablejerry, if I'm not mistaken.
(Or something similar)
Bought something from him several years ago and had a very unpleasant experience.

What people need to understand is that if Wendy had bought this table from someone else who also bought this table from again, someone else...I'd have never said a thing, I''d have just done what I could to fix the table up to play right, BUT...this is a black eye in this industry because this seller SHOULD know better, and more than likely DOES, but cares more about making the cash than he does about being honest with his customer!

and considering that that's coming from you - i'm pretty sure he'd LOSE that suit!

you're doing a good thing, Glen. question: ballpark how much would it cost to make it right? no favors. don't cut corners. full-pop. cause this, would be HER suit....

(welcome back!)

Oh crap...I didn't see this before ....he said he would sue you for making this deal public???

I would tell him to frikin bring it on. He doesn't have a leg to stand on.

If anything, he's facing fraud charges. Which I personally would pursue given his response.

Now, I gotta ask, does it look like these cushions were replace recently, according to the seller...they were, and...they're suppose to be GC3 rails, but anyone that knows anything about GC's knows, the GC3 rail skirts bolt on, whereas the GC2's are held on with well....the hing system, just like these rails pictured have, so that makes them GC2 rails, not 3's.

Those cushions are obviously nowhere near new. Clear evidence that the seller basically lied. And his "can't you just make it work, I do it all the time" statement is basically an admission of guilt. He knows they are not the right rails.

That's enough proof for any judge. Jerry needs to take the less expensive option of making his customer happy, rather than making his customer happy and paying for attorney and court costs too.

Glen, I would advise the customer to at least file in small claims court. Scammers/bullshit artists need to learn that this shit is not only illegal, but is not cool either.

I hate petty legal issues as much as anyone but I'd be pissed if I dropped 1200$ for that hot mess, because I was outright lied to. Eff that.

After double checking everything that is suppose to be with this table, I came across another thing that was MISSING....

IMG_0026.JPG

the center stablelizer that bolts between the legs to stablelize the frame. Had Wendy call Jerry to find out where it's at, he told her on the phone it's no big deal!....REALLY????...what a tool this guy is!

At this point, not only does he need to send Wendy a center stablizer, he should at the LEAST...refund about half of what she paid for this table, which would be $625.00 which still don't make it right, but at least it would show some kind of good faith on his part for pulling this bullshit on her!!!

You may turn it over to a states attorney. It was a deal across state lines using mail, probably email and maybe phone calls. The guy could possible be charged with several kinds of fraud.
Sound crazy, don't be so sure. I have a friend who is sitting in prison right now for mail fraud breaking laws he didn't even know existed. Don't threaten the guy what ever you do but you may let him know how this is going to precede and he can decide what he wants to do to make it right.

I'll tell you what, Wendy is pretty damn upset that's for sure. I called Donny aka SDBilliards to see if he would trade me a set of GC3 rails straight across for Wendy's GC2 rails, he said no problem, so at least I have the correct rails on the way here so I don't have to try and make this situation work the wrong way. Had to call Donny again to see if he has a center stablelizer to bolt up between the legs as well, he'll look and see. If Jerry actually sends the one that's missing, I'll give it back to Donny, but I'm not holding my breath after having to deal with this guy, that's for damn sure!

All I can say is, anyonedoing business with this guy after reading this thread is a fool!!!!

I'll let Wendy know, as she has all the emails saved between her and the seller, as well as paypal paying him. This would have came up last year had I been able to get to her sooner which is the only reason it's taking place now.

RKC, good lookin' out for the customer, hats off to you sir. As for this seller, 100% Shameful, shady, and pathetic!!
