Once and for all!

I can't see the difference? But if you want to bet on that statement as you quoted it then I will be more than happy to get one either Allison, Karen, or Kelly matched up with a "top man" for a week's worth of nine ball and see if she wins one set.

Can we double the bet and triple the bet when it goes to two weeks and three weeks.

And yes, I read and comprehend just fine thank you and thanks again for reminding me why it's better that I stick to selling cases. Educating the unwilling to learn is not my strong suit.

You said "No woman pool player today can ever win against any of the top 1000 men playing 7 or 8 ahead 7 days in a row"

You got a bet there Mark - Post a list of who you think the top 1000 men players in the world and we will publish that list for review. When all have more or less agreed on the list then I will stake Kelly Fisher to play the #1000 person on the list with the following conditions. They play 7 ahead sets for seven days - 12 hours a day and if Kelly wins one set then we win. If she loses all the sets then you win. As soon as a set is over then another must begin with slotted breaks for food.

I bet $20,000 that Kelly Fisher wins at least one set against whoever is your #1000th name - that we all agree on. I wouldn't want you to rank Orcullo at 1000 for the purpose of trapping me.

So IF you truly believe your statement above then are you willing to BET on it? Brian are you willing to bet on your number of 500?

IS ANYONE WILLING TO BET ON THE STATEMENT THAT A TOP WOMAN WILL NEVER WIN A 7 or 8 ahead SET against a the top 500 or 1000 players in the world?

By the way, would Jeff Abernathy be considered among the top 1000 players in the world? I hope not because then you have already lost the bet before you had a chance to make it. Jeff also wins against some of the players who have already been mentioned so I hope he doesn't feel slighted if you leave him off the list.
John, sure she may win a set. What he means is over the period of time allotted. Say, a week. One set a day. Even if she wins 3 out of seven, she is still down. That is the point trying to be made.

Not going to read 13 pages / 181 posts.....

I have nothing against the female players, and I'm actually pretty good friends with a bunch of WPBA ranked players and other women pros.
Here is the bottom line. Alison, Karen, or any one of them can get played by like 5 of the local short-stops here and probably need at least a small spot... and these guys aren't heroes, they aren't top-500 players IMO.
The girls all know this, I've had the talks with all of them, and I've seen some of them match up and lose.

IMO saying #1Woman < #500 guy could be modest.

JCIN may have a point about the 'under the lights' game, but who's to say that 'under the lights' is true pool, and even so I think that only takes the edge off of a small % of those players.

I don't even think this should be a debate, the girls know it, the guys know it, why can't the spectators accept it more?

FYI; when some of these girls run hot, they really can get up in there and compete with some of the better guys, but that goes for the top 500 men players too, any one of them is capable of beating a top-10 player on a certain day.

Holy S%$#! Someone who is going straight to the point. Just f#%$ing ask them. And you are very correct, sir. They will tell you. I have had that question answered by almost all of the top women. Ally didn't want to comment, other than it would be "interesting." The Spectators that don't believe, just plain out don't understand it. Or, they maybe need to hear it from the women. Ask Jeanette, Karen, Kelly and see how they'd play Little Tony some. And everyone knows he isn't top 300 in the world.

All I can say is wow!!!

It took all of these pages to get this great post. I don't know what the real number of men are that beat the top 5 women but based on watching the women miss easy shots on huge pockets leads me to believe that there are a bunch of men that are the favorite.

I know Allison and Karen are #1 and #2 in most peoples minds, but I think if you are going to match up a woman against a man in a long set it should be someone like Ga Young Kim (sp?) She has a bigger offensive gear and break than A or K. IMO................ She isn't quite as consistent but should have at least as good of a chance as A or K do.

Ok Corvette, enough is enough, this started as a stupid argument between you boys. You are crossing the line with this post, it is disrespectful and I don't appreciate it.
Kelly

Thank you Kelly, Looking over a number of posts on AZB makes me think I am back in high school with a bunch of teenagers......

Kelly

lol, exactly what was offensive about that picture?

Seriously, what about that picture could anyone possibly be offended by? It is in no way offensive to any of the parties involved. It only reflects the thread and the way it has taken off in the past day or so and does it in a humorous way. Shit storms do not exist by the way. If anyone can tell me why that picture is offensive then I will take it down. Anyone that can explain it to me in a way that makes sense that is.

Truly I Am.... imo

still waiting. Why and to whom was that picture disrespectful to Kelly?

Ah, is that a picture of Kelly in the middle of all the swirling kaa-kaa ?
Doug
( I'm offended )

yeah, but I am there too, along with JB and the rest of the thread, inspired by BWhites "shit storm" comment. I guess humorous metaphorical pictures are above some people's intellect. By the way, I'm still waiting on an explanation as to why this is disrespectful and offensive from someone other than Smorg, who delves into humor his self. :D

Humorous or Offensive?

Neither imo.

I took that picture as your attempt at a humorous depiction of this thread and not of any of the players being discussed. I could be wrong, but that is the way I seen it.

You are 100% correct in your assessment of my intentions of the drawing.
thanks for voicing your opinion. What reactions or feelings did the picture illicit if it was neither offensive nor humorous? Just curious, as I conduct my yearly poster evaluations.

You can take Train off the list - unfortunately, he's retired out of necessity.

That is too bad. I played golf with Train a few times and he was a world class pool player back in the day, and a nice guy.
