Well I'd like to show all my fellow Az'rs what one of our own BPG24 did to us. I ran a fair raffle in which everyone had a chance to win. Well now he has complained to paypal because he didn't like how the raffle was ran. Anyone on here that has done any type of buisness or met me in person will say I'm a stand up guy. Guycrunch even sent me an expensive cue to try and see if I liked it before I paid for it. I tried it out for a few days it wasn't what I was looking for so I had a new Moori installed on it and sent it back. How many people could you really trust to not screw you over if you did that. The only thing I did do wrong was when I went to mark paid beside one guy I wrote his name in bold print a second time by mistake. I stated earlier we'd do the raffle as soon as everyone was paid. Everyone was paid on fri night so the raffle went off on sat.

Here is the exact complaint he filed with paypal trying to get this site to ban raffles which are a fun way for all of us to sweat a little something from time to time.

Where do I begin? First of all I have had several conversations with the seller, we will not be able to come to a resolution on our own.

This dispute will begin a much bigger investigation by Paypal, I am sure. The website www.azbilliards.com has a sub page that is their "forums" page. They hold raffles there for pool related items. They use the lottery websites to determine the winner of these raffles. If you do a little research you will see that Paypal is being used for payment on all of these transactions. I have been told recently that these raffles are illegal and the owners/moderators of the website know this and let it continue. Here is a link to the specific raffle page with many raffles that are open and already completed. Paypal is used in every one of them.

there have been several raffles that have been rigged or somewhat unfair and that is why I want a refund. i was in a raffle that was not run correctly and I am not interested in losing my money this way.

Please look into this and make sure these raffles stop and refund my payment.

Thank you

Does anyone think this guy would be complaining if his number had been drawn?

What was the user name? He/she is a grown person who is completely capable of making his/her own decisions. This person knew very well what they were getting into when they entered the raffle. How was the raffle unfair or rigged as this person says? I myself have lost a bunch of cash on these raffles but I'm not complaining about it because I know each and every time what I'm getting into and only put out what I can afford to lose.

You are right, if this person's number did pop up he/she would have never said a single word. Suck it up.

as I said in your post on the main forum... he had have saw, or thought he saw, something underhanded going on.

BP can be an ass at times but he usually has at least aleg to stand on.

If you have figured out a way to rigg raffles based on future lotto numbers then you are wasting your time selling cues with it :D

BPG24 is the user and he thinks I can control the powerball numbers. HMM lets think about this. I'm not to sure what would I do..HMMM win the lottery or screw over a few guys in a phoney raffle. Yeah thats a tough choice.

This is an issue dealing with raffles. Keep it in that forum instead of posting in multiple forums!! Thats why the raffle forum was created, even though many expressed that these raffles would cause trouble like this.

Actually several warned me about that guy when he asked for a couple of numbers. I would just ban that dude. Everybody usually runs the raffles with a standard format of 42 spots and powerball number is the judge. What else is there to know?

this issue is not just a raffle issue its an issue of a fellow az'r causing problems for all of us.

Yes, an issue that arose from Raffles, which many on here said would cause problems like this. This is the wanted/for sale section, not the raffle section.

I never said it wasn't a raffle isssue. what I said was that it wasn't just a raffle issue. There is more to this then just the raffle. He is doing something affect us all whether we participate in raffles or not

how about we have a sub-section to the raffle page for "banned" or "less desirable" raffle members. A list of people we shouldnt let in our raffles because they are a pain, dishonest, whatever.

His arguement is that I didn't provide a link to the powerball so how could anyone know what number to look for. There is only one lottery called the powerball so this was understood by everyone but him apperently. He also says I never said the raffle was sat which he is right i didn't, but what I did do was say the raffle would go off as soon as everyone was paid. Everyone was paid fri night so we held the raffle on sat. I worked all night fri night, went to a pool tournament all day sat so I never got online again until I got home sat night and I anounced the person that had picked 41 as the winner.

Well I just went thought the raffle thread and I think you both have valid points. I don't think it would have made a difference if you had actually said "it's a go tonight" but it would have been nice and I'm equally sure he would have happily taken the cue if he had won (even though he didn't know when the drawing was, but I could be wrong) . Personally you were a little sloppy in how you ran it and he is blowing a small mistake into something bigger than it is.

I would have given him his 8.00 bucks back and been done with him.
Seriously is it worth 14.00?
I'll give him the 14.00 bucks just to make this thread go away:grin: .

this is why i dont like raffles. too much work and too much can go wrong. one transaction can be annoying at times but 42 at the same time is and 25 or so is a pain to me.

with that being said the only thing your guilty of is not telling the date before hand. i can see why he is mad but i dont think you did anything underhanded

I think he says pretty clearly that once it's paid he was using the next drawing as the number. I think bpg is way out of line here, I mean way out.

There is nothing vauge or hazy about the way it was done in my mind.

Anyone with any common sense can see what was wrong with the raffle. It is even different than all of the other raffles run by the same person. You guys can look it up yourself.

I gave the seller many chances to fix the problem. He refused, so I contacted the mods and was told they want nothing to do with it because money is involved which I guess would make them liable.

paypal is just one of the places that has/will be informed about this issue. I will not let this die until I know it can't happen again.

I took screenshots etc. to prove that I am not lying just in case anyone edited or deleted what happened.

And for the couple of morons who think this is about loosing, please do a little research before you make yourself look any more stupid. I have been in a BUNCH of these raffles, always pay fast, always lose, no big deal. Losing has absolutely nothing to do with this. If I wanted the damn cue that bad I would have either just bought one or bought a whole lot more spots in the raffle.

This forum is obviously not capable of policing itself when money is involved, given all of the scams, and bad deals that are going on. I have had several great transactions on here and only one with issues. The one with issues was with a well respected member so I never said a word publicly since I knew it would get no where. This time I am not letting it go.

Still don't get what is the issue here. The dispute is clearly for the whole idea of raffling billiard stuffs and not for a particular act. I bet, the best BP could do was to open a thread here and discuss the problem publicly. I believe it could be resolved in couple of minutes, but in Paypal? If paypal stick its nose in the raffles and they are indeed illegal, this will be a big cost for our community.

The issue was brought up both publicly and privately with the mods. No resolution was offered.
