One of the VERY few...

Its. Like jazz music

Highly technical musicians/players
Not for everyone thats no issue and not everyone needs to like the same thing
Its not being played on the radio for the masses
But people everywhere in the world love it amd its not going anywhere

Plus we all snap our fingers

I never said it wasn't still played in certain places, I'm just saying pocket billiards (in any form) is far and away more popular!..Does that make me a fool for noticing that.
.

Just out of curiosity what proof do you have for your statement? :)

I love watching world class 3-C but just as Joe Rogan said, people like to see balls fall in the hole.
The Rocket makes a great living playing snooker. 3-C would not interest him at all. It would just ruin his stroke. Way different stroke and game.
I did see Efren play 3-c upstairs at the old Hollywood Billiards back in '96 using his Meucci. And I kid you not. Hell, he was eating chicken wings and drinking brandy while he was in action. He told me the last time he played 3-C was some 9 years ago that night.
And still won 35-31 for $200.

Cali; the strokes in billiards compared to snooker are much more similar than you think or know! Many shots in snooker require going 1 or 2 cushions to play position on the black to make high runs, along with playing caroms into reds to open holes to have a chance at a 147 game! Steve Davis had a similar stoke to Ronnie's, a very precise timing and tempo to it.

BTW, Erfen was, or is a average 3C player for world play, .800-.850! His better carom games are 1 cushion and 18.1 balkline. I played him in Chicago around the mid 80's in his prime.

Ronnie O is one of the VERY few players of cue games in the world that knows, EXACTLY what He is doing at ALL times at the table!

EXCELLENT CB control!

Ronnie is my favorite player to watch period.
This was not a good match for him. Too many mistakes.

Watch the end of game 7. How do you dbl kiss that respotted black if you "always know exactly what you are doing at all times"?????

Hey Billy,

Yeah, he's a machine. I'm not much for snooker, but it's hard NOT to watch this guy play. I'm now starting to like the game more and more. I tried playing it, holy crap, I felt like a brand new league player that never shot before.... it was fun, but frustrating as hell. It's just a tough table to play on...

I only wish you would have dragged me onto the 3C back in the day !!! I'm pretty sure my pool game would be better for it had I learned it. And crap, we had how many 3C tables to play on, at least 4 that I recall ?? And I never even took a shot on one of them, damn !!

I'll admit, I only watched the game with the 146, which was PERFECTION!

I know when someone REALLY knows what they are doing with a cue in their hand!

just seen Selby's 143. Wow - Ronnie's 146 is a shadow of that.

My thoughts exactly - well, almost.

Mark's 143 was one of the best if not the best clearances I've seen in watching 1000+ hours of those boys play....I damn near stood up to applaud with the entire Crucible audience when he potted that last black. Wow is a perfect word.

Ronnie's follow-up 146 against Ding was truly spectacular in how he turned a completely challenging table (what looked like a nearly impossible 146 layout) into a feat of amazement. Unbelievable and awe inspiring come to mind.

Just --- wow.

Hi Robert; Your correct, we had 4 3C tables on the 2nd floor at the Northshore Club.

Any Pool player that seeks to learn basic principles in 3c can only improve their Pool game, nothing about it can diminish their play!

I'm still above ground, all you have to do is call me! It's never too late to improve and add extra tools to your bag of tricks

The 146 was sensational. Most enjoyable total clearance I've seen in a long time. Played with total freedom - Ronnie might have lost the match but he was enjoying himself out there.

I wouldn't be surprised if he plays a bit of 3C in his later years. I'm also convinced he has a few professional pool tournaments left in him.

THIS is still my favorite run by the Rocket..
..commentator..."He'll do well to get above twenty here."
