Perhaps true. However, I already have the following: Existing GC4 + new frame from Brunswick to replace the one I have missing supports + set of Artimis Intercontinental 66 cushions + Simonis 860HR + RKC agreed to setup and extend sub-rails the next time he's in Tucson. If I can get the one piece slate for anything close to reasonable I can have my dream table with all the features I ever wanted, setup by the best. If I can't get the slate at an affordable price then I'll just go with the 3 piece I have. No worries, just want to check before I abandon the effort.
For what its worth, I've had other AZ members PM me and ask for the results of my investigation when I get all the facts. So I'm not the only one interested in doing this.
Consider this, if it were possible to do this at a reasonable cost, everyone would win:
1. Table owner gets what he wants.
2. Table Mechanics get extra business.
3. Diamond makes extra sales and generates good will.
I'll be the first to admit that if I had it to do all over again I would go with Diamond. But at this point I'm in way to deep with my GC4, not only the table but the room.
So its wait and see. Diamond may not want to sell just the slate. And even if they do, as Dartman says, it may be too costly. However, it doesn't hurt to ask.
