One pocket question

Let's say I am shoot and have 1 point. If on my next shot I make a ball in my pocket and scratch, what is my score. Do I pull the ball I made and have 1 point still or is my first ball my 1 point deduction. I can't seem to find this in the rules.

All balls made on a foul must be pulled in addition to the ball being pulled for the foul.

So, if you have a ball and make another ball and scratch, you have to pull the ball you just made because it was made on a foul and the one that you previously made to pay for the foul. Making your score 0.

Hope that helped

No ball that you make on a scratch counts, whether it was made in your pocket or your opponent's. All balls you make on a scratch spot up immediately. In addition, you have to pay a ball for the foul. In the situation above, you would have no balls after you pay the penalty for the scratch, and there would be two balls spotted.

Thank You.

I couldn't seem to get that out of the rules I've found. Much appreciated.

If possible...when pulling the ball out to spot...try to pull it from your opponents pocket. :D
that lesson is in volume #2 for the more advanced player!:D

It needs to be in volume one for crappy players like myself who would do something so stupid.:o

Also when strecthing acroos the foot end of the table for a shot make sure to drag your belly across the foot rail to brush any quarters off onto the floor, after that when questioned just use this line, "well I don't know about you but I keep my quarters in my pocket"

I play one pocket with an older gentleman pretty regularly, and he pulls this move every time he has to spot one. It's so predictable now that it's laughable. When called on it (every time), he laughs and says "What do you want from me, I'm old!"

That is hilarious, reminds me of the Seinfeld episode where Uncle Leo is stealing books. I laugh every time I see that.
