Karen is so much more than most realize. She is quiet and conservative in public. Although She is a Champion,She is disarming when you speak with Her,and when you get to know Her,she is a card.Very funny with a keen wit,and that Irish Brouge kills me. Her and Julie Kelly have always made me feel like I was at "Cheers" when I see them.

Which, for the most part, they can. That's the pool community, buddy. Perhaps you need to take testosterone shots? HGH? I actually find this thread highly entertaining. I woud go so far as to say the overwhelming majority of female sports competitors would be flattered to know a thread was started saying one of them was an attractive lady. MOST of them are COUNTING on it to boost their appeal and gain sponsors. That's the society we live in. Women will always have an advantage as long as they can use sex to "sell themselves".
And don't even start on "Well, Karen never said she wanted to be seen as a sex object." Give me a break. She gains a built in edge over the men in today's billiard environment. The only reason she has made the healthy paychecks she's been making in the recent past (besides her great skill) is the fact that a bunch of dudes want to watch hot women bending over a table on TV. So, there's really not room for her to protest too strongly. The WPBA benefits from good sized purses, and a dedicated tour of events precisely because of their sex.
Personally, I think the statements about her sexual preferences are a bit out of line, however.

I'm with you, she doesn't float my boat either, but she is cute with a really nice smile and from what I can tell very personable.
Different folks have different tastes and that is what makes the world go round. There are very few women that appeal to all of us.
i agree the comments about anyones sexuality are out of line ...i am just appreciating her neauty and just wish she would use it more to her advantage god gave you what you have and she should flaunt it...it would definately help in the sponsor area... look at jeanette and jennifer baretta they use their looks to further themselves and they have more exposre than either the karen or allison

Jeanette Lee does a superb job marketing herself, which is both smart and prudent given the difficulty of making a good living on the table alone, but I would imagine there are many women who have some amount of distaste for the idea of marketing themselves in that way, and my gut feeling about Karen is that she's one of them.
