Online Auction: Janice Joplin’s 1920s-Era Brunswick-Balke-Collender Co. 9’ Table

I think it's because by 27 these artists have got the money and people around them to indulge in increasingly destructive habits. If they don't get a handle on themselves, it's when the habits get the best of them. If you make it past that, you have probably figured out how to manage your habits. Still weird how often it seems to strike at 27, not 25 or 28. Wikipedia says there is no statistical spike so maybe we don't remember the people who died at 26. If you make it to 30, I think you're out of the woods.
I got out of those woods by watching so many of my high school classmates end up in the graveyard. 98% from drugs and alcohol!

Big Mama Thornton (sp?) was the source of her style. When a wise friend heard her first album in 1967 he said, "She will kill herself singing like that."

She couldn't be much of a player with a bridge like that. Her pool room looks like an unfinished garage. Was the table in an unheated room all those years?

Posted today a bid of $13,000 was accepted and the table has sold.

Seems like a pretty good deal. I’d spend the money to fully restore it, frame the Certificate of Authenticity and hang it in the room. Get a nice picture of Janis to go next to it.

Page says Lot Closed - Unsold.

Using the link in the first post I'm seeing that it sold for 13k.
Not sure what to say. Below is a picture of what I get.

You may need to clear your cache for that page and reload. If on a PC or laptop, that's <CTRL> F5. I think for mobile devices, you just tap the reload button.

I’m an idiot. Fancy technology like the refresh button got the better of me. You’re correct. Thank you for being kind about my stupidity lol.
