Let me first qualify my statement by saying it is only my opinion, and opinions are like rearends. Everybody has one.
Although I haven't been with AZ for very long, I have noticed a striking similarity to other forums I have participated in, namely a presence of the all seeing moderators, and their quest for political correctness, as well as the sometimes inane drivvel that comes through as threads.
For instance. A couple of days ago a post came in that said (I paraphrase here) 'Hi, I'm so-and-so from the highlands of lower Dorksburg, and I can't wait to begin discussing something I feel so genuinely passionate about.'
Good grief. This forum is about POOL. You know, billiards, snooker, that sort of thing. Games that were played in basement rooms so full of smoke you could'nt see the back door; which was something you might need if you pressed too hard on a hustle and had to exit through.
As for the moderators, I'm sure they have a tough job. And I know that rules are rules, but oftimes I feel they take political correctness to far. Along with that, I believe the Karma or reputation (little green boxes) aspect is completely without merit.
I'm certain I have ruffled some feathers with my above remarks, and I apologize if I have overstepped my bounds, but more could undoubtably be said on these subjects. Anyone else want to jump in?

i'm thinkin more than a few page war comin' with this but i could be wrong, have been before.

I don't really have a clue what he is trying to say?

I love this forum, no matter what happens, people are
here for each other. Sometimes we all don't agree with each
other, we have different thoughts, and most of us are
stubborn, (lol).

But at the end of the day, if you ask a question you will
get an answer, if you ask for help you will get that as well.

Just my thoughts.

wow, i'm really impressed by your experiences in hustling and shit.

similarities

There are certain similarities between all forums, all groups of any kind. When they get to be any size at all they have to have some form and some leadership to survive. People will always form cliques with like people and some will always push the limits. Moderators will always have to do things they don't really enjoy doing just to keep things down to a low roar and headed in the general direction they want the forum to go. I have been Admin or Moderator on a few forums and it is easier to herd cats up a white water river than it is to keep a forum moving smoothly. I occasionally make my objections known about something a Mod does, I try to remember to add my thanks when they do the things that need doing.

A bit belated welcome to the forum as I see you have only been here a short time. We'll strive to entertain, educate, and occasionally irritate you!

This post was ill conceived and poorly thought out. My bad, folks. Would a moderator please close this thread and set fire to it.

naah, they let you cook in your own juices!

Generally the mod's leave a thread up unless it is really really bad. One that you want to quietly die and never be seen again will keep getting bumped to the top for years when somebody posts one more reply!
