Open-Letter to AZB

Well come tomorrow I will post here again and let you know if Les came through for me or not. I had ordered a custom cue of my own design at the cost of $930 USD We came to a resolution that I would except the "Pink Ivory Cue" as payment in full. This cue was listed on Bebot's website for sale at $1,100. Here are the cue photos of the "Pink Ivory Cue" from Bebot's website, before the site was taken down of course. When I get the DHL package tomorrow we will see if the cue I got lives up to the hype of this cue from the website. Again these photos are from Bebot's website, just to give everyone an idea of the cue I was promised.

Cue:
Pink Ivory
Gaboon Ebony
All white Ivory

I picked up the cue today and it's very nice. The only thing I needed to do was get the shaft cleaned up, other than that it's in perfect shape.
It's not what I ordered but I felt it was the best deal I could get and so I'll be happy with that.
I hope eveyone else is made whole.

Good to hear. The rest of us will continue to wait.

i ordered only a couple weeks ago. I will see if Les keeps up to his word but i also contacted Bautista to see if he got my order from les or not. If nor i know i dont have to expect anything coming from les, either a cue or a refund.

I just hope for now like all others do

I ordered August of 2009. He promised to return half the money in a few days and the other half at the end of next month. Two years is a long time to wait. For a year and a half I kept getting excuses and extensions. It's a good thing my family in the Philippines is well connected in the justice department and law enforcement in case he decides not to refund my money. Good luck!

Les state that he only have a problem with 5-6 customer only. But in this site we already got 7 victim, i don't know how many else out there..

Add me in there. My order was from August 2009. Few days before 2 year anniversary.

Add me to the list!!!!!
I have an update!!!

I have not heard anything from Les and I continuously am seeing Bebots cues for sale on AZB. I have seen my cues I both orded and prepaid $1000 dollars for, but they are not coming to the surface for sale on AZB.

It is amazing how it rains so much in the Pilipines so my cues were unable to be completed yet other cues dated 2011 are readily for sale.

Bebot and The_General should be removed from AZB until this is resolved. All we have now are different members selling Bebots cues. Bebot is full knowing that these cues I designed were paid for in full. I can handle not getting my cues but consistantly seeing other cues for sale by Bebot is starting to frustrate me considerably. I have seen my cues.........Pictures sent of cues in progress. Please do not allow Bebot or Les to continue this fraud.

Buyer Beware!!!!!!!

I also ordered my cue in February, and was continuously promised that it would be here by August. Well of course it never arrived and of course, no response to numerous emails. Disgusted by the whole thing.

I just thought I would mention that I'm one of the victims as well.

I found a cue on their website I liked and drew up my own specifications that were similar to that cue. I ordered it on May 25th, 2011 and was told to expect it in 3-4 months.

In June, I discovered the threads from Bebot and Les Lacson that tried to explain the situation, so I e-mailed Les directly. He gave me similar excuses that have already been listed on the thread.

June 26th Les offered to give me a refund over time, or have my cue made by another cue maker, Steve Urate. He sent me some pictures of Steve's cues and explained that Steve "belongs to one of the pioneer cuemakers here in the country." I figured I would have a better chance just going with the alternative cue maker, so I told him to go ahead with it.

On July 30th, he explained that Steve had started on the cue. Just today he told me that they mailed some cues to the U.S. last week, but also that Steve is in the process of relocating his shop...

I'm still hopeful that he comes through, but I'm wondering if Steve Urate is actually involved in this. I've seen a couple mentions on the forums that Steve might not be making cues anymore.

I'll provide updates if anyone is interested. To be fair, Les has responded to every one of my e-mails since March, but it can take a week or two to get a response.

Update

I would like to offer a glimmer of hope to all of those out there like me who purchased bebot cues from "the general" and who are still fighting for their cues or refunds. After more than 6 months of lies, excuses, broken promises, begging, pleading, and angry emails, I finally received a cue from "the general" this week. It is not the custom cue which I ordered, however at least it is something.

Here is a comparison between some of the specifications I requested and paid for, and what I actually received:

Ordered: tiger maple wrapless handle
Received: ashwood handle

Ordered: 0.9" ferrule
Received: standard ferrule

Ordered: 1x1 hard case
Received: soft case

Those are just a few examples. There are other differences as well between what was requested and what was actually delivered. In addition, there are some problems with the cue. The splicing for example does not appear to have been done correctly, as the cue is not smooth to the touch when you run your hand across it.

I don't think the cue is worth what was paid for it, but at this point, with everything that occurred, and considering that so many others have yet to receive anything, I am happy to have something and I am just relieved that this NIGHTMARE of an experience is finished. I am grateful that "the general" did finally take some responsibility, and did not completely disappear from the situation.

Over the many months of dealing with him, I heard every excuse in the book from "the general," including gems like: he could not issue me a refund because the money I sent for the cue had already been used to pay for his daughters' schooling.

I think the way all of us have been treated by both parties is unacceptable. For the most part, we have been bombarded by excuses and stories of victimization. I realize that there are several sides to the story, and I also realize that there are scams and shady characters in every country of the world, however, this experience has completely turned me off to making any more international purchases.

I just hope that "the general" and bebot do the right thing and I hope somehow that everyone who is STILL waiting will be compensated. I also wish the best to all the other AZ-ers who were victims and hope this is a sign that you will be receiving something too.

I have received 33% of my money. But the rest of it, still waiting and it's been 2 months since. All I'm getting right now are dates and excuses. Extension after extensions are a norm.
