Opinion: Best cue for $600

I picked up a Predator 3k5 with (2) 314's in great condition on eBay a while back for less than $400.00 and passed the deal on to a friend ...

You, too, can find deals like that if you are patient ...

Thanks KoolKat, my website is VERY uncomplete at this time but you can still view it www.kwikfireinc.com Not all the cues are on there. I can email you any info you would like though.

I am going to post on the For Sale section today if a get time, so keep a look out.

Please feel free to PM me if you have any questions. Just to let you know that I personally hit with every cue before I send it out the door.

You might be able to still buy a Kent Davis cue for around six hundred, without a lot of inlay.

He makes a great, flawless cue with a great hit.

He's becoming popular right now though, and within a year or two the prices will be way up there.

I've been told several times by good players that our own AZ'er Masonh makes a great hitting cue in that price range so you can contact him on here.--Leonard

Pred SP+Stack leather

I suggest a predator sp for $300-$400. Then sent it to Tiger and have them install a stack leather wrap for a total of $450-$550.

A friend of mine asked me the other day which cue I'd recommend for him in the $600ish range. He says he only cares about the hit, not points, diamonds etc. In other words a player rather than a looker. I came up with a few names (mainly SPs), but any recommendations you guys might have would be welcome :)

Thanks,
J

I happen to specialize in true custom fitting which entails building the cues to hit and play exactly the way the customer wants !!!

My cues start at 350.00 because I make "tools" for players not "art" for collectors.... here's a link if you would like to see pics some of my work :http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=91822

If you are interested in discussing details or have any questions whatsoever, please call anytime !

If it was me I would just get a Schon and save a couple hundred but that's just me.

I would think that the best cue would be the cue that feels good to you. Remember, a cue should be a life partner.

I agree with this. There are a lot of great production and custom cues in this range. If you don't already have something particular in mind, my advice (echoed by others above) would be to hit with as many cues as you can, and when you find that one that makes you go, "wow," buy it. Doesn't matter what the name is or what it looks like.

many like what Keith Josey will make for that price.................

Here ya go....not only incredible players, but drop-dead gorgeous too! I would venture to guess this may well be the best bang for the buck cues out there, and Keith and Sherri are awesome folks to work with!!
