Opinion Wanted

This is just my opinion so if no one agrees that's fine. I understand why Egg posted the PM's but I just don't think they should be shared on the board with everyone. I write a PM to someone, I expect that to be a PRIVATE MESSAGE. My intent was not to share it with everyone even if it's a neutral message. JMHO.

I think that's why I thought this was getting a little out of hand. Maybe I'm all alone on this but I thought I'd share anyway.

You initiated action with me. Then you nitted out. Then you initiated action with me again. Then you nitted out. Then you initiated action with me, once again. Then you nitted out by turning it around and accusing me of initiating action with you and not playing to your illogical demands.

Then I notice you posted some sh_t on the internet and described me as some kind of extortionist forcing you to matchup (keeping in mind that you first initiated action in breaking, then in any game for 1000, then for 500, then for 25/rack). Then you referred to me as your "fish" in red. Then you made it sound like I was scared to play you. Then you described to me your thoughts on why I am evidently the biggest loser on the planet in a nice little pm.

This is where it gets good. I post the list of all our pm's. After reading this, you somehow seem to believe it solidifies your integrity as a man of your word and shows what a scoundrel I am. I am unable to even begin to comprehend how you arrived at this conclusion. I'm sure the people out there are scratching their heads too.

I will not be having "one on you" and I have said it many times - if you want to gamble, I will gamble with you. We can play 9 ball for any money you want. I am available to play anytime this weekend starting 30 minutes from now. But if we gamble, we won't play for $25 a rack. You expect me to drive 1 hour, then work for $25 a rack, and then pickup time? Come on. But if you want to play an ahead set 9 ball, $500 freeze or more, then pm/call me and I will do what I can to accomodate you.

for someone who doesn't like to gamble, that's an awful lot of trouble to go through to set up a gambling match.
 
Best decision I've made in years was to stop gambling when I played pool, about 5 years ago. I still side bet and once in awhile will throw in halves with a buddy who's matching up, but I quit playing for $ after: I won $ off of a friend when he was drunk and in heat to gamble..the loss put him in a bind, I offered to write it off but he paid me, and badgered me every time I showed up..I dumped the money back to him, and we really weren't very good friends anymore; I played some guy $20 a game 9-ball, he starts fast, gets up about $160, but when I started clawing my way back, he quits me when I'm $80 stuck, then sat right there in the room acting like he'd pulled off some long con or something; won some money off a guy who I'd known for awhile and thought was honorable..I win $120 and he stiffs me, guy was playing on air, took 2 months to collect (my fault for not posting, but..)..there's more, but you get the idea. I don't need or want the headaches; pool is much more fun now - I've got some guys about my speed who enjoy playing 1-pocket and that's a game you don't HAVE to gamble at if you've got a good, friendly rivalry going. Purdman, if I can withstand 2 hours of badgering by Lotsapoppa to gamble and not give in, you can walk away from this whole thing, too. As Nancy said: Just Say No.
 
Based on the posts it seems Purdman never wanted to play in the first place. Based on the information from all the posts it seems like a wise decision on his part to backpeddle like crazy.

My Opinion? ....get off yer duff and go play the guy. Get the match videotaped so we can all enjoy watching you get your butt kicked! LOL, J/K buddy. Go win some $$$. It will make you feel alive.
 
This is another case of poolplayer's ego. Sorry Purdman, I like you as a forum member but you were way wrong on this one. You started the crap talking and you were the one acting like you got alot of gamble, and when Egg accepted and tried to compromise, you BACKED OUT but continued to talk crap. I think you are just scared to play, and you let your ego do the talking for you. You should not have made this public, because Egg just embarassed you.

Well you are right, I enjoy it also, but I was just saying if I were him, I'd be pretty damn embarassed. It always cracks me up when someone goes barking up the wrong tree :D
 
Even though IMHO it was very clear from the PMs that Egg was in the right here, I was fully expecting some forum members from a bizarro universe to chime in with irrational comments against him.

That did not happen, and thus my faith in the human race has been strengthened...for now. :D

No Planet-Pool tournament tomorrow, it's next week (unless I'm screwed up?!?), and I plan to be there. I'll be around most of the afternoon and all evening. How's the breaker working?
