Opinions on the perfect players cue...

So, you had a couple too many drinks last night and agreed to play the devil for your soul vs (whatever you would bet for).

Jesus kinda likes you so he offered to make you a cue for your match.

What would you ask for?

No 'my cue from XYZ cuemaker plays the best' in this thread please. Lets stick the attributes that would make an ideal player. There are plenty of other threads to decide who the favorite cue makers are.

Wood, joint, taper, ferrule, shaft, tip, balance point, cored vs not, full spliced, half spliced, etc.

And don't forget the WHY, and what subjective qualities you are trying to obtain with the particular combo.

go!

Shaft
30" 4oz or better (helps with forward balance)
IvorX or Saber t ferrule uncapped-crisp hit, stays clean
Joint piloted 5/16 14
Tip- Moori medium

Butt
Phenolic lined stainless (balance, appearance, firm hit)
Forearm- figured BEM 4 ebony points with 4 veneers (maple and ebony for balance and harmonics)
Linen wrap
Ebony buttsleeve (nice canvas for inlays)
White delrin buttcap (appearance only)
Total weight of the cue 19.25

I like a cue that has a nice ping to it. Helps me judge/adjust how Im hitting the balls.

Just give me Moses's staff. I could perform MIRACLES with that!!! And.....it's probably around the same length as Earl's newest creation .

A Cue is a Cue, is a Cue. IMHO The player who hand The Cue is in, makes it a Magic Wand.

I'd ask for a cue 57.5" in length, with a turned down 314/2 shaft to 12mm, with a butt that is naturally weighted using different woods, to achieve a weight of 18.5oz. No crappy weight bolt systems, I want a cue that has so much feel that it can give Predator's/Mezz's/Meucci's the 7 out and all the breaks with bal in hand after :)

Understated but pretty to look at.

59" total length so a fat man has a slightly better chance.

The "ping" (that Rivercity referred to above) has always been a must for me. Like your cueing with the end of a 2/4, not the side.

Feedback and hit achieved with a 5/16 14 ss joint and an old growth minimum 4 oz shaft.

Moori medium (the old one) or Kamui black soft for that nice grab. Note, these Kamui tips hold their shape like no other.

A good pressed linen wrap feels right to me.

Great balance and 18.8 oz so it feels like I can play for 24 hours straight without the cue dragging me down.

Micarta ferrule or ivory harvested from the outside of the tusk for hardness which =s better hit. The ivory at the center is typically much softer.

12.75 mm.

A hole in the rubber bumper to access tapped threads in the butt of the cue which accepts a matched extension.

Will it be ready for pickup at 5 pm?

Best,
Brian kc
