I recently took advantage of Mike Gulyassy's $100 off sale on Orange Crushers. I really like this break cue a lot. This is the first purpose-built break cue I've owned, so I can't compare it with another break cue. However, it is worlds better than the cue I was using--a purple heart jump cue shaft mated to a McDermott butt. Although that combo had a stiff shaft, a phenolic ferrule, and a break tip, it doesn't begin to compare with the Orange Crusher.
Last week I took the O.C. to play in my BCA 8-B league. Using this cue, I got consistently better spreads on the break than I'm used to. On more than half of the breaks, the majority of the balls ended above the center spot. This cue really delivers a surprising amount of energy to the rack.
Regardless of where it's built, this is a well-made cue. Fit, finish, and attention to detail are first rate.
I pm'd Mike asking if he minded my posting the code for the discount. He didn't say no, so I take that as an implied yes. The code is m02ipa. I asked him how much longer the sale is going to run, and his only answer is that it's over "soon".
Search these forums for other opinions--they're all positive. If you've been debating getting a new break cue, I suggest jumping on this before the sale is over. At $125 this thing is a steal.
