I am not living there yet but when i do, where can i play pool on good equipment with non bangers? I expect to be south of portland. Anywhere from oregon city to eugene. My first preference is weekly tournaments on 9 footers. Next would be a BCA league on diamonds, and then only if i had to, APA.
Can you give me a few places that will give me my pool fix?
Thanks oregonians.

Yeah i will be visiting classics but it is not going to be local. Surely i can get some game without the long drive.

Pub 181 has the best tournament.

Kc midway in oregon city has tournaments and bca, too, iirc.

Rodders in oregon city may have tournaments or bca, not sure, but does a ton of apa.

River roadhouse in Milwaukee is not far away. Also good bca, apa and has tournaments.

Wichita in Milwaukee also has a good bca and apa presence, unsure of off nights.

All of the above are on diamond boxes.

Sam's in pdx has a good monthly, gold crowns.

Good scene around pdx. Not filled with pros, but plenty playing and lots of diamonds.

Eugene/Springfield doesn't have a single diamond pool table for public play. Pretty sad for a city of a quarter million.

best room within hundreds of miles is the one in salem. top equipment. centennials and anniversary tables. he keeps the room up and has owned it for a few decades.

there are bangers wherever you go, just dont play with them if you dont want to.
in salem you wont be one of the better players i guess.

Jim's tables have buckets by today's standards.

Ok to or

Thanks guys. Good information. Time for another road trip to oregon. I noticed that the oregon bca tourney just finished. Does it attract good players? Is it well attended? Thanks

maybe the reason salem has made money for jim for decades is that his table are well cared for and you can actually make a few balls i you are a recreational player.

they arent buckets but not real tight. so he gets business and all players have a great pool room to go in.
