Thanks for posting this video! I was watching this and was surprised by the
way the cueball reacted on the breakshot at about 31:40. I wonder if this
cueball reaction was due to the stroke,or perhaps a loose rack? Any one
have a take on this? Perhaps that is a more common cueball path then I am aware of.

Nice video. Always a joy to watch him play straight pool. Instincts are amazing, and a keen judge of ball position. As far as the cue ball movement on the break,my guess is a ball out of alignment. Thanks for posting.

I have only seen 2 other players/ Sayinger and the amazing Mazin, {I saw them having at it in Vegas a couple years ago} not sure if I spelled correctly, play with the shooting arm as far out of alignment as Oliver's. I mean the elbow is not directly above the forearm, but quite a bit off to the side. I've never seen it in snooker, rarely in pool except maybe a complete beginner. It may be common in 3 cushion, 2 of the best ever play this way. I don't know.
Kind of like Jim Furyk's golf technique, nobody ever taught anybody to swing a club like that, but it works for him. hmmmm.

I dont think those are the right links....The post said something about the 31:40 mark, and that clip is only 9:52 min long.

still always a joy to watch Oliver shoot, even though he is a shark....LOL

Yes, quite unusual. Many years ago he didn't play that way. Apparently the change came as the result of back problems and surgery. I'm not sure exactly when that was. After the World 14.1 event last year, I believe he said during an interview that he really wishes he didn't hold it like that. I don't know whether any physical problems would keep him from going back to "normal" now, but he sure seems to have "abnormal" tuned in well.
