Dave and I made the trip from Canada to Vegas last night. We're here for a few weeks to team up with Justin from TAR to cover the streaming aspect of the US Open 1P and 10B events.
This thread will be used to document our trip, as much goes on behind the scenes at these events.
Our trip starts in Niagara Falls, with stop overs in Chicago and Los Anegeles. Our final flight to Vegas was then delayed, as the Vegas airport was temporarily closed due to gale force winds.
17 hours of travel time later, we finally touch down in Vegas. Our first nights plans were to check in to the hotel and keep things low key. An opportunity for me to finish recovering from a recent bout of the flu. However this is Vegas, and things dont quite work that way here.
Within a half hour of checking in to the highly glamorous Hooters Hotel & Casino (a whoping $28 per night, at the expense of cleanliness), Justin was already at the hotel bar waiting.
A few drinks at the Hard Rock and it wasnt long before things escalated into a second trip to the Palms.
Some geeky discussion regarding the stream setup warranted a visit to the Riviera to check out the layout. It wasnt more than a few minutes before we ran into Sunny, hiding amidst 275 Diamond bar boxes.
More drinks at the Riv Irish pub naturally led us across the street to the Peppermill for some healthy eating (sarcasm). For anyone who has never had the pleasure of seeing the Fireside Lounge, this place is incredible. Great atmosphere, the food is delicious, and the portion sizes are obscene.
Im now lounging at the MGM (decided to step it up from Hooters for the night). More pictures to come as we'll be heading to Pool Sharks later tonight to continue the adventure.
