The H was my least favorite... I ended up completely reworking them and actually only sent out a handful soooo good puppy....

I am testing the new H atm and will likely make a decision on it this week... I don't save addresses from PMs in any order where they are easy to find so hit me again and I will send an H out the second I am happy with the quality and performance.....

I applied this tip myself and noticed a few things right off the bat. First, when shaping it the tip had a slight sulfur smell. Not sure what causes that but it was not a big deal at all, just a mental note.

The tip felt hard, shaped like a medium-medium hard and holds chalk very well. I shaped it to a nickel radius on my lathe and gave it a nice beveled burnish.

I have been using it for a few weeks now on my main playing cue. I even broke with it several times to see how it held up to the beating. It has maintained it's shape completely so far despite the hard hits and being a single layer tip. I have only felt the need to scuff the tip once so far. (last Saturday)

I really like the way it feels. It's hit is more crisp than my Kamui tip (but to be fair the Kamui I have is a super soft). It has all the advantages of a multi-layered tip but without the drawback of peeling layers like some multi-layered tips seem to do. It holds it's shape and it holds chalk very well and has not glazed over.

I felt comfortable enough with this tip to use it in my match Saturday, (money game) which for me says a lot about how much I like it. It preformed as expected. No miscues, no worries.

So far I am completely happy with this tip. I wish I had more time under my belt using it but I will post a follow up after I have used it for a month or two more.

I would defiantly recommend trying this tip, it's as good as anything out there right now and better than most. Thanks for giving me a chance to try it out Chris. Shoot me a price because I am interested in buying a few more.

Glad the tip is working out for you...

I'm trying like heck to get all 3 hardness rating to hold up and perform the way I think tips should perform... I have tweaked the Soft and Mediums to where I think they need to be but there seems to be a decent gap between them so I am working on a Medium Soft for somewhere in the future... Along with a Break tip... Neither of those projects are front burner... Just things I can see doing when time permits...

Pricing will be up as soon as The Hard has passed it's in-house testing... I will likely sell on AZ and Ebay until I can manage to get distribution worked out.... As such I need to be able to do discounts and mix and max hardness..... Right now it looks like 1 for 10 or 3 for 20 and deeper discounts for installers but I've been more concerned with adjusting the processing and Quality controls than running cost/revenue models...

I think I was one of the ones with the lost adress
The soft is still hitting great with little to no mushrooming
Still plays the same. IMO you have solved the soft tip mystery

Chris, thanks, but let's wait for now. My pool time has been slashed with new pups for a few months, so I'm not wearing out my Kamui's as fast as normal, so it may be 5-6 months before I could try yours anyway. I will let you know, and your H will be my next tip. Thanks again, and good luck with them!
 
I want to say thank you to everyone who has helped by reviewing these tips. The last stack of envelopes goes out tomorrow morning to everyone who jumped on early to try and help out...

Hi Chris. I am posting up because I have a few more hours with your tip. I think it plays as well as my current tips but I get a bit more spin out of it. I would still love to try your hard tips once you are happy with them. My main player has two shafts, one with my normal tip and one with the medium you sent me. For now my preference is the shaft with your tip on it. Thanks!
 
Hey Chris, I haven't posted since I got the new ones you sent me, cuz I've had a lot of stuff going on in my world, so I haven't been able to really put a lot of attention towards the tip and how it performs.

I have played a little since then, and I'm using the medium now, rather than the soft, and the medium is a better choice for me. It seems really responsive for my limited experience, I can generate spin easier with this tip than the Everest I used before. Whether that is a good thing in the long run is yet to be seen :p

A much more experienced player than I used my cue for a few shots recently, and he felt it gave him almost too much spin, and he uses a Kamuii....

I intend to try and put more thought into it and get back to you again. And I haven't been able to send you the old one back, as my guy that put them on has just moved. I haven't forgotten you on that.

Appreciated the fact that you were a willing test subject =)

I actually saw what I think happened to your first tip in person in New Jersey... The installer there didn't have any supplies (how do you not have sandpaper?) and the chisel they had was as dull as a butter knife ...

All I can figure is he had a kit he took everywhere with him but he was not onsite so we got permission from the room owner for a friend of mine to use the lathe...

The excess pressure he had to use trying to cut the tip with a dull tool literally ended up tearing the fibers instead of cutting.... Killed the sides and crown both that way... Was an eye opening experience to say the least =)

John Barton was the test subject and luckily had some sandpaper in his case so the 2nd tip didn't suffer the same fate..... Maybe he will chime in and bust my chops at some point =)
 
Have had a cpl of installer requests and orders now... 10 for $60 or 20 for $100..Mix and match.. Will establish higher price breaks as they are requested.....
 
As far as names you would recognize... Joe Tucker is converted over to the Outsville Medium and Pat Fleming is using the soft.... I have handed them off to several pros for review but I won't get any responses until I see them in person in June..

I've been super, super curious about your tips because the name seems to pop up randomly in conversation where I shoot. I would love to be one of the lucky picks to try and give feedback!
