Paradise 8 Ball Tourny in Corpus Christi July 21st and 22nd

There is an 8 Ball Tourny this weekend in Corpus Christi at Paradise Pool and Billiards. The entry fee is $40 and it is IPT rules. I don't know why they didn't just do BCA rules, but oh well. I hope to see a lot of people there from around the area.

That was funny zach! I know the people running the tourny it is an honest tourny...................I really have no idea why they wanted to use the rules from the IPT. At least it is a bigger 8 ball tourny down here instead of the weekly bar box tournys.

Well it is, but I guarantee that KT has nothing to do with this tourny. This is just a local 8 ball tourny.
 
Can you use break cues that do not have a leather tip?

Phenolic, glass, etc.?

I think this place was one of the places that hosted IPT qualifiers IIRC.

That said, I agree BCA rules would be better.

I am pretty sure they won't care about the tips.

I think they are just using the playing rules, like an 8 on the break is a win. The 1 ball is the ball that has to be struck first on the rack. And winner gets to chose who breaks. ETC, ETC.

I called Paradise today and they said the only dress code will be what the pool hall requires as a dress code. And that is pretty much anything except tank tops for males.

They did do some IPT Qualifiers........................but this IS NOT AN IPT event!

This is just a local 8 ball tourny!

You would have to call Paradise and find out....................I don't have a flier so I don't know if there is any money added or not. (I would assume there is, but I am not going to make call! LOL)

Just call them and find out, they can tell you everything. The contact info is at the top of this page and they open at 12pm everyday.

Why is it that everyone I know has to work Saturday? Damn this rain, and the rain outs that have been occurring!

You should call in sick Bishop! Everyone that wants to play in it should call in sick!

Well I will try my best. I will let you know how I do!

I also have to play in the championship match of my bar league on Sunday Afternoon!

So if I get very far at Paradise I might have to make a decision on which one to play in on Sunday! Oh well I will worry about that when I cross that bridge!
 
hahaha I'd love to call in sick but being in sales Saturday is the money day. I earn at least half to 2/3rds of my paycheck on Saturdays. What time is everything starting I get out at 4.

I think the player's meeting on both days is at 12 noon. So I would guess we get started about 1pm after the Calcutta.
