Paypal truely SUCKS...

I've been a Paypal user since 2005 and have never had a problem with them. I've use this service for it's convenience. I've heard lots of bad stories here and there, but now it happened to me, I feel for others frustration.

I'm a Verified Premium User. I've been making payments in amounts even higher than the $2,100 I was trying to pay.

I have to make 3 small payments in a span of 3 days just to make the amount needed. It really sucks and no amount of complaining made Paypal solve the problem. Paypal's resolution was to offer me excuses upon excuses but no real help for my issue.

In the future, I'll avoid using Paypal as much as possible.

In 2006 I paid $2400 for 6 world series tickets with one transaction?
Have they tightened up that much?

I have no idea as I have not gotten a straight answer to what my issue is. I'm not holding my breath either.

I made a $2k payment in November without a hitch, haven't had a problem with paypal except when trying to make a claim at 48 days which is 3 days after their claim deadline for refund requests. Been using Paypal since they 1st started.

Well, one problem is enough to tarnish your reputation, especially when the deal is International, as a lot of people are wary of scams ( rightly so).
But the main problem is not being able to speak to any one in authority, to quickly resolve the situation, and the incredible frustration that this causes to genuine traders.

I was given the runaround and no straight forward answer. I solved my own issue by making small payments in a span of days. Instead of helping me, I was given various excuses and possible issues to my dilemma.

I'm a support person(help-desk) and help people sort out millions of dollars in FX Transactions daily. I know what the issues are when transactions fail.

Paypal (pre-eBay purchase) stole $300 from me in 2001. They closed my account, no reasons given, no answers to emails, etc... Since then, as far as I'm concerned, they can rot in hell.

The truth is, although they do their best to deny it, they're a bank, but they're not FDIC-insured. They do what the hell they want with your money and as long as everything is alright, it's great. But if you, the customer, is not happy, and they don't want to make things right, well tough titty for you.

down. Ultimately it got done in a completely secure way. It will probably never happen to you again. I , for one, am happy you brought this to light as I now know that Paypal is really on their toes about security. Of course it was not my ox being gored but if I were you I would continue with Paypal knowing that they are serious about security.

I've seen a few other posts concerning paypal. I still use them but everytime I do I wonder if there is going to be a problem.

After all the confirmation(emails and calls) and telling them it's a legit transaction and all then still get the same sh!t, I will avoid them.

BTW, I was paying for a cue to a cuemaker.

paypal is great when all goes smooth
but heaven help you if a problem arises
they are the worst fkn people to deal with
customer service is pathetic
i've got a problem from two years ago that still has not been resolved
even if you happen to get lucky enough to speak with someone that speaks english, all they do is read a pre-written script of explanations off to you
oh, and that is after being on hold for an hour
