I have owned Pechauer and it is a great cue. I bought it with a predator 314 and it plays great. I have not played with the original shaft except for trying it, it feels a little light and the grains on the wood are easy to feel.
Decent quality and joints. I find them a little thick in the back and thus a little back heavy. Styling is fine but subjective. Almost every one I have hit had a 314 on it. Nice value over all.
I have shot with and sold dozens of Pechauer cues over the years and I am a strong believer in the quality of their cues. Pechauer cues is one of the finest values among American cue makers. With their own saw mill Pechauer's level of quality control from start to finish is among the most comprehensive of any American cue maker. In my book no one should have any concerns about the quality of any Pechauer cue that they should buy.
I'm beginner so my knowledge about equipment is nonexistant, but I'll still share my thoughts
I bought a pechauer based on a lot of thread searching and advice on this forum according to my budget. I love my cue. I later added a 314-2 shaft and love it even more. However, the only thing I've compared it to is a house cue and a very old stealth cue I had purchased when I first tried to pick up pool back in the late 90's. So....that's all I have to say about that.
I'm considering being a dealer for them, we've talked and I have all the requirements but I like to know what customers think. If anyone would be interested in joining in for my initial order of 6 cues, I'll give a better than average discount.
I picked up a older PS-18 about 15 years old with the 5:16 14 pin, like a Schon, not there new style pin.The cue feels so solid and has stood through
the test of time. The construction and tone of the cue is awesome.I've seen a few older ones and all but 1 was solid as a rock. One of them had a A=joint buzz which is odd for a Pechauer cause of there construction methods but sh-t happens and could of happened from misuse.I would put there quality
equal to Schon and since I use Predator shafts, the stocked shaft is
irrelevant. For resale Schons get more, for someone that wants a keeper
Pechauer is a great choice.
