People who make offers when not serious about buying.

I am starting to get really annoyed with people on here lately.

The last 3 people that have made me offers on the item that I have for sale have backed out from the sale with no word (through PM) about them changing their mind.

They will send me a PM saying that they want to buy my item, and then after I reply back (which is always within a few hours at most from receiving the PM), I never hear back from them again.

Should people that do this type of thing deserve a bad itrader rating?

It is very annoying, but maybe not a bad enough thing to do to deserve a negative itrader rating.

I am just curious if this is a common thing that happens on here (people changing their minds very soon after making an offer, and then not even being good enough to PM you to tell you that they are no longer interested, or unable to follow through with their offer)?

Am I just unlucky, or why are people treating me this way?

Maybe they just like playing games with me.

Anyways, I just wish people would not make offers that they are not 100% sure about following through on, and at the very least, send me a PM to tell me that they changed their mind or unable to follow through with payment for some other reason.

I just wish that people would change their ways, and at least reply back to a person if they changed their mind for some reason.

Do not just let a seller sit there waiting around for a reply (or payment) for who knows how long.

Thanks for reading yet another of my so called "crybaby" threads.

Didnt you have a thread almost identical to this one a week or two ago?

If you want some sincere advice, if people are calling you a "crybaby", maybe you shouldnt start so many threads to whine and complain. Just a thought....... ;)

Why do you care? If you do not like my threads, then just ignore them and move along. By the way, that thread was a little different (not the same). Why do I always only get replies from the forum police? Does anyone else not have any thoughts to anything I talked about?

Even Bill Clinton would be stumped by that one.

Stumped by the reasoning as to why people do not care to follow through with offers that they make, or simply following up with some type of reply (even if the person making the offer changes their mind)? I get the feeling that you guys just want to be trolls. Why the jokes? Are the thoughts that I post really that out of the ordinary? I do not understand. Maybe this type of behavior is typical of people these days.

I was joking because the question you posed, because of the way it was worded, cannot be answered.

You've had some bad luck is all. Most of us with decent I-trader are reputable buyers and sellers. In fact, many of us you could trust with your life. There are also flakes. It's NOT hard to figure out who is who. Your job is to figure that out before accepting an offer.

Also, I do not suggest explaining why you're selling something. That shouldn't enter into the equasion and falls into the TMI category. Buyers want facts and don't necessarily have patience to read through all that extra stuff. Also, I think you are putting people off by immediately going into your buying terms. They expect to pay you and for you to send the item.

So something like this would be OK:

30" Ron Haley shaft, 3/8 X 10, 12.7 mm tip, 3.3 ounces. Rolls flat but very slight wobble due to taper. Excellent condition, $75 shipped, just a fraction of what Ron charges. Returns accepted after reasonable inspection period, less shipping.

By the way, I would see if I could find someone with calipers to measure the joint. That's important to any buyer (expressed as a fraction of an inch, for example .840". This shaft is a very good deal for somebody.

Your jokes are not funny. Why can't people on forums just be nice? Treat people the way you would want to be treated. You guys would never say this type of stuff to a person face to face. Only on an internet forum can you act this way.

There is an old saying, goes something like this....

If you run into an asshole in the morning, well bad luck, you ran into an asshole.
If you run into assholes all day long, YOU are the asshole.

I was being nice in my original post, and Im still not being "mean". Maybe you have a problem with people being bluntly honest with you.

So how would YOU answer this question:

"Does anyone else not have any thoughts to anything I talked about?"

I have no idea what you are saying. Please read my post above about better ads too. You have 40 I- trader's. you should know how some buyers are by now.

Couple thoughts Justin. Yes I agree with you that what you're talking about is super annoying. With that said, you've been here now for 6 years, have a bunch of transactions so you probably should know how this place is by now. Also being in the pool world if you are gonna survive you are gonna need a thick skin. Lastly and maybe most importantly, Mort Mike and I are not the best of friends but no one on the forums like people who " report " and even more so in real life. And just an FYI, if those pool pros that you wanna hang out with ever get that impression from you you won't ever have to worry about working up the courage to speak to them. Just some friendly advice, hope you sell your item without any more issues.

Thanks for the "troll" type of reply.

it's not a troll reply ... you put the same post up twice in a week. People backing out of sales is a part of selling. Either get over it or stop selling. How many times are you going to put up the same complaint?

Buyers not following through. It's not personal. It's going to happen (you already know that). Why do they do that. Does not matter. Set the terms and a deadline to commit. Move on. Business is business. The good faith buyers will buy. If it's aggravating and not fun pull the plug. If you're making money keep doing what you have been doing. Nothing is easy. If it was everyone would be doing it. Learn how to deal with sales. Fine tune your skills.
