Perfect Aim....Free Phone lessons..........

Thanks Mr Jeff for sharing your observation..........

I just took a lesson from Gene and it helped.

But that's not what I want to talk about...

He was giving free, 10 minute lessons at Big Dogs this past week. I watched maybe 4 or 5 Persons take those. One was a young girl.

After some short instructions, Gene set up a long straight, corner to corner shot (9 ft Diamonds with tight pockets) and had her shoot it.

Bam! Again. Bam! Split the pocket. Again. Bam!

I quit watching the ball after the first one she made and, instead, watched the girl's face. After a couple of made shots, a smile broke out on her face like she'd just won the lottery.

I told the guy next to me: THAT is how pool grows. Not a big money guy, not gambling, not whatever. THAT is how pool will grow.

She left the lesson with that smile stuck on her face.

Hi there Jeff,

Can't wait to hear how your game is in a few weeks. I know you work hard at it.

At the Pershing Center Junior Nationals VNEA here in Lincoln, Nebraska we had a few of those Kodak moments this weekend.

She was about 13 and she had almost no chance to consistently shoot 2 shots in a row. One was kind of max or none.

I worked with her for about 20 minutes. Showed her how to line up the shot with Perfect Aim.

Mom and dad were on the side ad knew how much she struggled.

I lined up a straight in long shot and she lined it up and fired it in. mom and Dad started clapping. There was no reaction from the little girl. I set up another shot and I could see right away that she was not lined up so I told her to get the eyes right. She did and she shot in another shot. Mom and Dad clapped again.

I set up 4 or 5 more shots and she made 4 of the 5. It was pretty obvious that this was working pretty well. Each time mom and Dad would give an applause.

Finally it came. A great big smile. She showed off a whole mouth full of braces. What a kodak moment. :rotflmao:

I have played pool my entire life but never got really into it. I am currently enrolled in my first league APA (my skill rank is 5). Yesterday I was able to get a hold of Geno and have my free phone lesson and it was great.

I took Geno's advice into my league match won 4 straight games. It seems to be working for me, and if it works for me I am sure it will work for anybody else. Definitely worth the phone call.

THANKS AGAIN GENO YOU ARE THE MAN!

Spoke with Geno yesterday

Hi. It's my first time posting here, but I've been reading with great interest very intensely over the last several months. I've always thought pool was kind of cool, but only played recreationally until March this year when I had a table installed in my house. I play several hours a day. My goal is to become a B player by July 31, and an A level player by December 31 this year. These are extremely, extremely big goals, and most would consider them a pipe dream. I've read here the fastest anybody has ever seen anyone go from rank amateur or D player to A player was 2 years or so. I want to do it in 10 months for fun.

Along with reading this forum I have bought almost everything out there in terms of instructional material. I need every edge if I want to accomplish my goal, and money is no object when it comes to my favorite pastime right now. When I saw a DVD for 80 bucks out there I was taken aback by the price (most pool instructional video products are half the price). I bought it anyway and it has become THE BEST PURCHASE I have made bar none. The video focuses on a topic that is not addressed anywhere else in pool material. Somehow nobody got this right even though it's simple mechanics about how we use our eyes and our brain to perceive shots on a pool table. I noticed a difference right away. I had been in a funk, and instantly it was cured (I had been sighting incorrectly, unbeknownst to me). BUT I got the biggest bang out of it when I spoke with Geno on the phone yesterday.

First of all the guy is really fun to talk to and humble, and cool. Effortlessly we spoke for a long while as he showed me what I was doing wrong. He diagnosed my particular problem after literally about 1 minute on the phone. And he was RIGHT! The guy is good. He knows how to do this. I am now aware of what is going on with my eyes when I get down over a ball. Chances are very good I'm one of the few people in this country that does CONSCIOUSLY realize what I'm looking at because I'm telling you nobody has written about this stuff before, albeit simple once you realize it. (High level players know what they're looking at too, but it took them years and millions of shots before they gained this talent naturally. I didn't need millions of shots to get it naturally--Geno taught it to me in minutes). Furthermore, I even changed my aiming style because of Geno. I was going to use aiming by numbers and had been doing the workouts, but now I'm switching to fractional ball aiming because as Geno says "it's the way your eyes see it! Your eyes see ball fractions as the balls collide. Your eyes don't see contact points on the object ball and cue ball well enough for the consistent accuracy you need." Geno is the man! He helped me sight the ball properly, and align myself correctly, and he changed my aiming style. I really enjoyed talking to him, and will shake the hell out of his hand when I see him in person.

I now have all of the fundamentals before me, and it's just a matter of always approaching each shot correctly, and setting up correctly, and executing fundamentals correctly. Now, as he says, I can take so much worry out of the aiming on a shot, and turn my focus to other essential elements like putting action on the cue ball and positioning.

Geno, thanks man! You deserve a lot of recognition for this.

And to think, some on this very forum, tried to run Geno off. And those that tried, still haven't apologized to him, in spite of the perennial posts from people like yourself, extolling the virtues of PERFECT AIM and Gene.

BTW, congratulations on a fine first post. (Good luck with that "A" business. ;))

They shoulda known better than to go up against Geno the Admachino and his muscle, Joey the Endorser.

And look what they got for their trouble - now Geno's got his own forum!

The problem is that Geno's marketing-machino efforts have now been bifurcated -- he has marketing threads in *TWO* places now (i.e. the Main forum and this Aiming Conversation subforum).

So the efforts to "shoot the incoming marketing asteroid" have fragmented the asteroid into two just-as-lethal pieces. We have JoeyA (aka Luca Brasi) strong-arming Geno's marketing efforts.

What is it about people they can't get through their heads that unsolicited marketing is not allowed (except in dedicated places, like the WFS subforum) on this privately-owned site? What is it with this "but it's pool-related and it's to help everyone's pool game -- therefore immune to the 'no soliciting or spamming' rule" notion?

EDITED TO ADD: I realize Geno's out there doing a great job. I *know* he's a great teacher, doing good things for the sport we all love. That was never in dispute. What is, is that there is a difference between doing a good job in the field, and breaking rules of a forum on a privately-owned website. End-running the management of a privately-owned website is never a good idea.

Obviously it is allowed here - at least by the Favored Few.

Gene's performing a service to this forum, a very important service and that service is being positively received by SCORES of people.

Sean, why don't you simply ignore Geno's posts and threads? You apparently don't like to see his "reports", but apparently person after person, month after month, writes in, UNSOLICITED, praising GENO's efforts in getting the word out about PERFECT AIM.

If scores of people like Geno's "reports" from the field just as I do, why would you want to deprive forum members of getting this valuable information.

Look, this isn't a stab at you but this forum NEEDS posters like Geno. He helps people to enjoy pool in more ways than one.

The main forum has been "sanitized" and is on the mend.

New posters come on board every day and some of them would miss Geno's posts if he weren't regularly posting in this forum about his travels, experiences and yes, PERFECT AIM.

I know you have A LOT OF VALUABLE experience that can help people play better pool. How about putting some of that unique ability to express yourself to good use by starting a thread that will help people play better pool. Pick a subject, any subject that helps someone play better pool and write about it. You won't get any complaints from me or Gene. In fact, if I can add to any of your quality posts about pool, I will do so and so will Gene.

The forum owners know how to run this website and they know that people like Gene are a valuable asset to the forum. Forget about your own personal bias for a minute and think about the benefit the forum gets from a guy like Gene.

Your friend,
JoeyA

Patrick,
You've been warned about calling people names. Haven't you already learned your lesson. Quit your ad hominem attacks on me and others.

Go back to the Aiming Forum and discuss whatever it is you like to discuss. That's what you wanted. Now you've got it, live with it.

The forum owners don't need your input on how to run their forum. You've been banned more than once.

Joey, I snipped the "birds of a sales feather" marketing for Geno's approach to the forums, because we've been over that too many times to mention. However, I will focus on the above snippet, because I think you're hilariously out-of-line.

"How about putting some of that unique ability to express yourself to good use by starting a thread that will help people play better pool"? You kept a straight face when writing that? As if to say I don't contribute, in my usual profuse fashion, to the quality of information on these boards? Honestly? Seriously?

So my presence on these boards hasn't been what it used to be. That isn't by choice. Rather, I just don't have the time anymore. But I do contribute as often as I can, on breaks at work, and in the evenings, if I'm not booked. I give a lot of my personal time to contributing value to these boards, Joey, and for you to try to say that I don't, is obviously a... well... let's call it what it is -- a marketing technique. But I think our viewership can easily see through it.

The "forum owners know how to run this website, and what business is it of yours" excuse doesn't fly, Joey. As a subscriber who comes here specifically because of the rules of this site -- being able to retreat into focused discussion and sharing of info about a sport I love, without being pestered by "eyeball snatchers" (i.e. marketing/sales) -- is definitely my business. I have a right to express my dissatisfaction and disappointment with the behavior of others, behaviors that are designed to skirt (and penetrate) the fringes of the rules that I'm here to enjoy.

I believe Gene -- as well as anyone -- has a right to be an asset to the forum. The trick is in how it's done -- symbiotically. Merely mining the forum's readership -- a one-way affair -- isn't the way to do it.

BTW, just to remind you, many of those "testimonials" aren't unsolicited. Geno has made it very clear that when he shares information with you, that you are expected to go on the forums and laud what it has done for you, to extend the marketing message. He makes no bones about that -- it's not a concealed fact.

With over 250 postings in this thread, there is not a single post in this thread that actually helps anyone improve their aiming.

This thread is primarily intended to market and advertise a product, the "Perfect Aim" system. It appears to me that this thread belongs in the "For Sale" forum.

Seriously,
Why don't you anti-Geno guys just put him on ignore?

There's a whole bunch of other school of fish that have been swimming these waters and for a lot longer time and I don't see you whining about them and their fishing ways.

If you guys keep up your attempts at censoring what is said, how it is said, when it is said, there won't be any forums left to post in. Maybe you guys can ask for some more sub-forums, yeah that ought to do it.

If Mike keeps appeasing (not necessarily you) those of you who want forums for this and forums for that, there won't be any AZB forum that is worth visiting.

Gene never has a cross word to say about anyone on any of these forums.

Sean, I would think what would bother you more is people calling others mean-spirited names, badgering certain posters until they just leave the forum or quit posting, spreading gossip like a little biatch, playing games with people's livelihoods, making despicable remarks about decent and honest people. That's what you should be angry about. THAT'S WHAT CHASES PEOPLE AWAY FROM FORUMS LIKE THIS.

There's a difference between standing against things like the above and standing against things that we just don't like because of our personal bias.

And as far as you are concerned and your posts, except for your harping on Geno and his method of posting, your posts are almost always informative, valuable and respectful. Don't mince or morph my words or meaning for me.

I'm just saying that if you want a more tranquil place to retreat to in these forums, you should spend your energy on making the forum a better place by posting about pool rather than complaining about Geno's posting style.

Either that, or take out the bow-fishing equipment and really get after the fish.

Hi there everyone in the for sale section.

If you don't already know it I do Free Perfect Aim phone lessons.

Maybe I should charge double. What's double the price of Free?

Doesn't make too much sense. What's triple of free? Still Free?

I'm still doing the Free perfect aim phone lessons anyway.

I tell players if they like what they learn to do me a favor and let others players know how much. If they didn't like it they can post that too.

Some of the players on the aiming section I think got tired of just hearing good, great and it's the best. Not one bad word about Perfect aim because it does work for everyone if you understand it. Or should I say want to try and understand it.

Bottom line is that Perfect aim is one great aiming system and the ones that call for the phone lessons are really getting a treat.

In these trying times alot of pool players are a little short on cash. Just trying to help fellow AZers learn something that everyone needs to know if they want to increase their skill level in a real quick hurry. Like almost immediately. Nobody has to buy a thing or expected to.

Give me a call at 715-563-8712 for your Free phone lesson.

Let me share this amazing technique with you inbetween traveling on the road teaching it from poolhall to poolhall across the USA.

One man, a van and the road............

Joey

Joey:

Let's get some things straight:

1. YOU started this. Do me a favor, and scroll up to post #244. This thread was humming along quietly -- no peep from either myself, PJ, Lou, or whomever you're enamored with spraying blue ink on. Then, out of the blue (forgive the pun), you decide you want to stir some sh*t. Ask yourself this one question: was what you did in post #244 really necessary?

2. You got what you deserved. You wanted to stir it up, to stick your thumb in certain people's eyes, and you managed to resurrect the ire of these people. Good job, Joey.

3. Your efforts -- and only your efforts -- resulted in the mods taking notice, and moving this thread from the Aiming subforum, to here, the WFS forum. Frankly, that's where a thread of this type should've been in the first place, but NOONE was saying anything until you decided that you wanted to stick your thumb in certain people's eyes. Good job, Joey.

4. I wasn't mincing or morphing your words. Take your defensive bias away for a minute -- just a minute, do me that favor -- and read what you wrote to me with that "How about putting some of that unique ability to express yourself to good use by starting a thread that will help people play better pool" passage. I quoted you EXACTLY. Do you see any mincing or morhing going on there? I'll bet my hat if I wrote that to YOU that you'd take the same offense by it as I did. Quit with the double standards.

5. About the other "marketing fish" that are swimming around the pond -- I joined this site in mid-2008 (see my profile). I think I know the "marketing fish" that you're talking about, but by that time, I didn't see the same type of fishing/mining behavior from those folks as I've seen (and continue to see) with Geno. Those other folks got smacked down big time (or so I heard) about their aggressive marketing and mining of the forums. Since then, it appears they've cleaned up their act. Now, all you'll see from them are somewhat innocuous mentions of "In pool school, we teach..." and that's about it. You don't see anything more than that. Show me where you disagree -- give me examples. You talk about bias? I think you're still biased against folks that've since reformed their act, and still have a thorn in your craw against these people.

6. At least I'm consistent with my message. Not only have I gotten on Geno, but I've gotten others -- e.g. Barioni Cues for the same Geno-ish practices, as well as Dr. Dave, for his advertising and excessive-compulsive linking to his website. Have you forgotten? And yes, if I see any of the behaviors that you're accusing those folks in point #5 above (which I haven't yet), you can BET I'll be consistent with my message to them, too. You have my word on that.

In summary, you reaped what you sowed, Joey. And in the process, you caused some collateral damage, too, by being the catalyst in having Geno's thread to be moved to here, when it was humming along quietly where it was. Those of us that take issue with Geno's inappropriate marketing/mining of the forums were being very tolerant up until you started sticking your thumb in people's eyes out of the blue.

You may be upset with me, but so be it. Rules are rules, and noone's above them -- no matter who the person is, the technique they use, who supports them, or what-have-you.

Respectfully,
-Sean

Hi there Everyone,

First I want to say thank you for all the great feedback from the phone lessons. It's been alot of fun.

Just want to make sure that the players that want to do this still know they can call. There is no charge to learn this and you don't have to buy anything.

Just be by a table and get ready to improve your game more than you ever thought possible. It takes anywhere from 15 to 30 minutes on the average.

Looking forward to working with everyone.
Call 715-563-8712

Thanks again geno................

As a late-comer to this thread, I decided to read it again after reading all the broo ha ha towards the end and that other new sticky thread.

That is the OP, above with my emphasis.

Why was it moved to the For Sale section? I still don't get anyone's beef about reading a thread, for gawd's sake.

I use a thing called the IGNORE feature. It works quite well.

Jeff:

That thread was in the Aiming Conversation subforum, and, even though it's foisting product (while Geno's phone lessons are free --for the moment, meaning "loss leader" free -- his private in-person lessons are NOT), it was humming along quietly. Noone was saying anything. Then, Joey decides he's going to rile things up by thumbing people in the eye with his trademark blue ink. What you see is what transpired -- collateral damage by Joey's efforts. It didn't have to be, but now it is so.

I try not to use Ignore if I can help it. To me, people that make my Ignore list are real j*ck*sses. Geno is not one of them.

Respectfully,
-Sean

Sean,
Sorry, unfortunately your long and throrough posts are wasted on me. Just so you know, I'm not upset with you. I just think you should quit worrying about what other people post and post your good stuff, that's all.

From what I read in your posts you always seem to think I am after you. No one, including me, is trying to persecute you. I like your posts even if they are a bit "detailed".

I just think more people should learn to to use the ignore feature which is available to every person that posts on this forum. I know you know how to use it.

Make your posting on AZB pleasant and "tranquil", just put Geno and anyone else that you find upsetting on "Ignore". It will be good for health and your experience.

And just so you know, I have no thorn in my craw against "those people".

Everyone has a right to make a living and posting about their craft in the Main Forum or anywhere else is just fine with me. I don't harp on "those people" because they perform a service to this forum and they do give back to this forum, maybe not as much Geno does but they are still here offering help to those who ask. I just see that you as having a double standard is all. So you see, I don't harbor any angst against anyone.

Live and let live, that's my motto.

OK, I've done my best to answer at least some of your post, please don't bother asking me to answer more questions or to do more research. This forum is just a hobby for me and I don't have nearly as much time to interact as some people think.

Respectfully,
JoeyA

(And yeah, I'm still your friend) It's OK, to be different and not think the same way about everything. Respect is something that will carry all of us a long way and I respect you, your contributions to this forum and your friendship, no matter how hard you beat up on me in the forum.
