I'm sure it is a mistake but I have to ask anyway. Why is the price for this cue $10,000?

Nope, no mistake. There are plenty of others asking ridiculous money for Scruggs, Searings, BB, Barry, etc. and PFD can make a cue as good if not better than anyone else so why would this be out of line?

Why would anyone pay 10,000 for a sneaky pete? Any cue above 3000 have inlays & points / some historical value / signature behind it.

This PFD doesn't even have any signature or whatsoever. No offense but really, good luck on your sale. It'll be a really good eye-opener

"Better" in my opinion! I amuses me that someone would pay extra for a cue owned by a hall-of-famer, such as Steve Mizerak but they stub their noses at a hall-of-famer cuebuilder like Paul Drexler. I don't see a Scruggs on the front cover of Blue Book but I sure as hell see a Drexler cue!
With that said, $10,000 does sound a little over-priced! Will you take $9500 Tom?

I'm not sure what you are suggesting. The cue is marked with the PFD Studios logo. I can certainly bring it to Paul and have him sign it if it makes you feel better. :p

lol if you are trying to make some point about PFD cues and their value, its not working. Many cue makers are undervalued.. doesn't mean they don't make a good product.

Exactly my point!

Regarding the $9500..... let me give it some thought. :p

Hmmmm, I guess the price of original Balabushkas will be coming down now!

I think you may have taken the objective and twisted it. It's more poking fun at the prices of the other cues values.

It's all demand and supply. If demand is high for a cue, prices goes up and if demand are low...well it priced accordingly. SW/Gus are a good example of high demand cues that are more liquid in today market.

There are lots of great cue builders that are now in the low demand category due to instability in our market...starting a list would be too long and it will probably represent 90% to 95% of the cue builders in the bluebook. It's just a bad market overall for cues right now because we're in a zero sum game where our pie is shrinking and rapidly. The market is over flooded with custom cues that's catering to a shrinking field of players who really can't afford and really don't need another cue.

Duc.

Thanks for the reply Duc but I hardly need a lesson in economics. I understand supply and demand quite well but the point I was trying to make is that there are a few people trying to create a FAKE market by hyping the cue they happen to be selling this week. Whatever they happen to have in stock is the best, greatest thing EVER!!!
While I will not knock the makers of those cues because they do make very nice products, the problem is the exaggerated pricing because of all the hype created. More to the point, if the PFD I have listed in this thread was made by someone else (Searing for example) it would be priced at some exaggerated number like the price I listed and many people would think it's ok. I know Dennis makes a GREAT cue. I just question the inflated pricing of his cues because people hype the crap out of them. I don't mean to pick on Dennis here, I'm just using him as an example because his cues tend to stand out more than others in the market.
Additionally, I used my PFD to make my point because I don't care who the maker is, I'm sure Paul can make a cue as good if not better than anyone in the market today. Granted I may be a little biased because I have a bunch of PFD's but I have them because I believe he makes one of the best cues available.

I challenge ANYONE to prove to me that ANY other maker is THAT much better to support the crazy inflated pricing.
