I took the phenolic tip off mine and put on a white diamond. It holds chalk very good.

use a willards to scuff it and chalk it each shot. you should chalk each shot no matter what tip you are using

I use a Tip-Pik on my phenolic tips and I apply the chalk in a gentle brushing motion. Works just fine for me.

U can use 80 grit sand paper or scratch it with a tip pik. I do both depending on what's around. Phenolic gets too smooth too hold chalk. I scuff mine every few weeks

THE COARSER THE SAND PAPER THE BETTER. IF YOU HAVE A LOCAL WITH A LATHE, AND CAN MACHINE SOME RIDGES IN THE SURFACE, THAT REALLY HELPS AS WELL.

shouldnt be giving away my secrets but....

I use either 80 grit to put lines in the phenolic or an its george tip tool works best for me....

I just use Blue Diamond chalk. Softer and greasyier than the rest. Works for me.

All the other suggestions will only help.

Phenolic comes in many types, some is made with glass, some is made with linen, paper and canvas. They all are made differently according to the application they were designed for. I have a phenolic that is exclusive to my break jump cues that will take care of your problem. It actually fuzzes up when you machine it and holds chalk like a hard leather tip. I also have a leather tip that breaks and jumps like phenolic. Either one will fix your problem. Mike @864-458-7662 or www.babysproshop.com.

If your miscuing alot it might be your stroke. You should be breaking close to center ball anyways.
