Philadelphia Aces BB conflict

So, it looks like 3 of the 5 team members are already signed up for the Ultimate 10 Ball tourney (Daz, Stevie M, and Jayson Shaw). Which would mean they only have 2 members available for their BB match. They are not scheduled for a BB match until June 22nd, which is after the Ultimate 10 Ball ends. But with the tourney being in Tunica, one would assume these 3 players plan to stay for the Southern Classic.

Is one of them going to forego the Southern Classic in order to have 3 players for the BB match on the 22nd?

This will be the first test to see if players truly do have absolute open choice on playing in other events. Will BB reschedule that match? Or allow them to get another alternate to fill in?

I would think that much like other sports that they have a roster of maybe 7 or 8 so an alternate could fill in. It would seem unfair to cancel unless the other team agrees to reschedule and wouldn't be advantageous to billiards in general to have players miss a huge tourney to play a league game. I'm sure they have to play so many bb matches but I can't see them being forced one way or another. I always saw players like a golf player, as an independent contractor. I'm sure it's a bit different now as I'm assuming they're under contract for bb but bb isn't bigger than the game itself. No way to turn people away faster than to have people travel to see some great players at the open and find out they won't be there because bb said no.

All Bonus Ball players should be welcome and if I was Stevie Moore, he should play the Bonus Ball match and put the grand in his pocket!

Have you contacted any of those team members and asked them how they are going to work that out?

you know it wasn't a literal question.

clarification: I would think you are of reasomable mind to determine the 'question' did not seek an answer, rather was more of a musing...as in: hmmmm, wonder how this will play out?

Why can't bonus ball schedule around the Southern Classic and all the US Open events in July so that all the pro's can play in all events? Wasn't bonus ball supposed to start play months before it did? The players waited for bonus ball to get their act together, out of respect for the other events you would think bonus ball could make the adjustments for the pro's that promoted them and stood by them for months after the promised start dates.
It would be wise for the pro's to stand together and demand bonus ball work around the conflicts. Diamond and Mark Griffin have always paid their players on time and held great events. Not many can say that. They need to be fully supported by the players.
I hope bonus ball survives- for the players! But they haven't prooven anything yet. Think about this!!! If the players don't support Diamond and Mark's event and then bonus ball fails- then there could be NO pro pool at all. Oh maybe the US Open 9-ball, but how many of you can wait a year to get paid

Diamond, to my knowledge Bonus Ball have cleared the schedule for the players so they can play in the Ultimate 10 Ball ONLY. Maybe because of the added money being high or because it is a WPA event. Not sure but They have no scheduled around the Southern classic. So it will be up to the players who are scheduled to play to either find a Alternate, Play Bonus Ball or play the Southern Classic without nmaking arrangements for their Bonus Ball match. I think this answers your question.

Reasoning

The WPBL moved the schedule around to accommodate the Ultimate 10 Ball championship for multiple reasons

1. We were contacted directly by Badi months ago
2. Our players asked us to
3. The majority of this tournament takes place during the off days of the WPBL

All or most of these reasons were not true with the Southern Classic.

The Philadelphia Aces line up for June 22nd will be Brandon Shuff, Stevie Moore and 16 year old alternate Billy Thorpe will make his debut on that day.

Dave,
Thanks for the direct answer. I was wondering how it would work out as I assumed Daz and Jayson would certainly want to enter the Southern Classic, and thought Stevie may stick around as well. Glad this didn't turn into another hater thread and never get an answer.

So bonus ball worked around ultimate 10-ball but not Southern Classic? Seriously? Bonus ball doesn't work around Southern Classic because Diamond didn't call and ask?

If I were Diamond or Mark Griffin and the players choose to play bonus ball instead of pushing bonus ball to schedule around the Southern Classic, US One Pocket, US 8-Ball, and US 10-Ball then I would ban those who choose bonus ball. But that's just me!!

WOW when will you guys learn?
