I have a chance to buy a Phillippi cue that I did not take a pic of.
But it has 4 solid ebony points into maple with a really nice textured leather wrap,no rings or bling.
I think it has two shafts but not sure.
$400?
It looks very close to this cue but the maple is not stained and has a leather wrap.

I would imagine solidly more than that if it was in good condition. If you decide to pass on it, PM me - I'd love to take a look.

The shafts are probably worth that. Buy it, can't go wrong at that price.

Looks like a great deal. Hope it's for real.
In the mid '90s I told owners of several local pool rooms I was interestd in acquiring a few cues. Got a call from one of them that someone he knew well had a Schon SL-10 for sale. I met him at the pool room asked all the questions. He said it was his deceased dad's and he needed the money. Pool room owner vouched for him. I had a table at home, fell in love with the cue.

A couple of weeks later the police show up at my office and confiscated the cue. It was stolen from one of the pool rooms display case. There was a reward for it's return and a player at the room witnessed the transaction. He get's paid the reward, seller was arrested, and I'm out what I paid for the cue. Never got restitution.

Room owner felt bad and sold me my LTD-945 at cost. Still have it.

Always a little leary now.

A deal not to pass up if the buy is in person - could also be resold for much more than $400 here if desired,

I got the Phillippi cue but it turned out to be a trade.
I traded my Troy Downey (brand new cost is $1475 I paid $435 used) cue even up for it.
The Phillippi came with 2 shafts and Ernie Martinez refinished it and put a textured leather wrap on it.
It's not as pretty as the Downey but I was ready for a change.
Here's a link to the Downey

I say your pool you just got better.

One of the shafts looks like a piloted 5/16 x 14? Maybe.... Great deal no matter what the joint is, IMO

But not how a merry widow can be 1400$??
I don`t wonder about that at all. Prices for rare, high quality objects have no guidelines and make no sense. It is not high when buyers are lined up.
If that cue were for sale across the street I would walk over and buy it right now.
