Here's a cute shot of Amar Kang and Keith at a pool tournament in Virginia. Amar was decked out in his stylish plaid shirt, which was popular at the time.

Amar and Keith ended up in the finals, and Amar won. They were enjoying a celebratory shooter, and Keith decided to clown around like he was mad that Amar beat him. :grin-square:

The two of them knew each other from California before Keith moved to the East Coast.

Here's Fat Wayne and Cigar Tom Vanover.

I knew Fat Wayne for a long time, way, way back when I was more active in the pool world with my road partner, Geese. :grin-square:

BTW, today is Geese's birthday. He would have been 64. May he rest in peace. :angel2:

Fat Wayne would play anybody for any amount of money. He knew how to match up really good. He's also a good steer man. I always liked Fat Wayne.

When I used to drink, I went up to Glen Burnie after midnight, feeling no pain, and I wanted to drum up my own action. I asked Wayne if he's spot me the 7, 8, 9, and the breaks. He jumped up and started racking the balls, wasting no time. I knew I was in trouble at this point. :embarrassed2:

I dropped a C-note, I think, and thanked him for the action. I never won a game.

We've always been good friends. I hadn't seen Wayne in a long time until Keith and I started going out. I was at my very first Super Billiards Expo with Keith, and I ran into my old friends, Wayne and Piano Man. I was at the Action Table pit, betting it up. I had never seen action like this before, people hollering, "I'll take the breaker for 20," "You got action," "I'll take the racker for 50. Any takers?" I was in the thick of it, betting with all the big boys. It was INSANE, that action, one little bar table surrounded by 200 people. Standing room only.

I looked over at the staircase, and there was Fat Wayne and Piano Man watching me bet it up, laughing to high heaven. They knew my nostrils were wide open. That was a happy memory for me.

Here's a cute shot of Josh Roberts, Jose, and Keith taken at Drexeline Billiards in PA. Josh used to live in Delaware, I think, but he was hitting a lot of tournaments in the region, so we'd always run into him. Strong player and a nice kid.

One of my all-time favorite players ever is Jerry Slivka. He used to live here in Maryland for a spell, so I'm claiming him. :grin-square:

Originally from Pittsburgh, Jerry has been a rolling stone until he met a lady in Starkville and now has a beautiful little daughter, who is the apple of his eye. I miss seeing Jerry. We gambled with him on the same side, and we gambled against him as an opponent. Win or lose, he was always a gentleman. I hope I see him again sometime, even if I have to drive to Starkville, Mississippi, which I wouldn't mind one bit.

And here's the Donut Man (Mark Ford). He still competes locally from time to time.

When I first met him, he was working at Shooter's on Pulaski Highway in Balitmore. They have shut down onw. That was some pool room.

That hotel next door stayed busy, thanks to the full-time ladies of the night who made their living at this pool room. I never liked this pool room much because of it.

I always liked barking with Henry. He could bark up a good game, and he bet it all. The kid had a lot of heart. I always liked him He would try to out-bark Keith, but he was no match for Keith. It was nothing for Henry to play $1,000 sets at the drop of a hat. The kid had gamble and game. He's fun to be around. :)

I always liked Gerry. I know many didn't see the same guy I did, but he was always fine when I saw him.

A fierce competitor, for sure.

(Wo)Man! That is from a triple secret stash!

He barks at me a couple times a year, but I got the trump card now: we played his game last time, now it is my turn to pick and I am holding out...plus, I won last time!
