Was asked to post photo's of the new table so going to toss it in it's own thread. It's a Gold Crown III Pro 8 that used to be at Jimmy's Pro Billiards in Minneapolis. Work was done by Jamie Pluta and I'm very happy with it. Don't judge him on the rails as they have not been recovered yet, but will be this summer. This was also his first attempt at doing the cuffed corners with the plumbers tape. Table plays perfect!

So, here they are:

So, there you have it. Room still needs more artwork and there is a bar that I'm going to build into the cubby area shown.

Thanks again for everyones help!

What type of flooring is that you have there where the table is? -
I see he used wax in the seams, do you have the old cloth? I asked because I'm sure you can see the wax on the old cloth on the bottom side at the seams "wax stripes on 25 and 75 yard line"...most GC3 frames need some attention as well at the end frames...not saying all of em are that way'
But only time will tell now that its all together and covered..

Have fun and enjoy your table'

Looks great you will have lots of fun on it. Looks tight in in the room so dont leave the cue ball on the rail unless it's in your favor....

It's a laminate snap together floating flooring from Ikea. The bed cloth is brand new. Don't have the old cloth, so can't tell you anything there.

You can use a full cue with 2-3" of drawback on 3 full rails and most of the 4th one. So far I've needed a short cue on maybe 1 shot every other game in 8 ball, less so in 9 ball. Spent a lot of time doing the math and laying out the tape on the floor so the table would be in the best spot to allow for a decent playing experience!

Yeah.... I've already had to toss him off the table a few times, along with his brother... We have 5 of the little fur balls running around the house...

Suggest a table cover when you're not playing.
And from your pics it looks like a protruding nail head in one of the pocket liners.
I'd check all of them so balls aren't hitting dead on the heads. Also can take a black marker to them.

Yeah, trying to decide what table cover to buy, right now it's covered with sheets when not playing. Not sure if I want a generic cover, or pay the extra and get the pretty one from Brunswick with the logo on it... No nails in the pockets right now, in fact 3 of the pockets are just sitting in place. Waiting for replacement pocket screws from Classic Billiards to arrive :)

I'd vote for a generic naugahyde or heavy vinyl cover.
If you play a lot you won't see much of the fancy, overpriced logo.

Yeah, but the wife likes pretty things (why she married me, I have no idea!).

I will most likely go the generic real imitation naugahyde cover route. And there is also the question of color because I like black, or brown to better match the table... Decisions decisions decisions...

just get a queen size fitted sheet.

if that's a closet on the right side, i'd tear it down and make some room. even if stairs, you could modify them to take a right turn and open up the space.

table

looks great.
i have a 1926 brunswick regina pro eight model. i think a lot of people miss out on not getting this size table when they cant fit a 9ft'er in their room. instead they opt for an 8ft. many newer homes will accommodate the pro eight size but not the 9ft. cloth is about the same cost as a 9ft and readily available.

It is a closet, but the tearing it down isn't an option, way too much work to be done with support structures and such, plus it has a ton of wiring in it for my home audio system and such. I do open the closet door so I can make a full cue shot straight down the head rail.

Ehh, let the wife pick the color - save an argument.

Yeah, but she's not sure what either... We are debating refinishing the side skirts in black and doing black powder coating on the metal bits, which means it would have a lot of black on it... But if we don't do that, it will be all brown...

Now about that Simonis suit....LOL ... the electric blue may be a tad bright.
Maybe marine blue or grey and the tailor can sew in some pinstripes.

Isn't that the point tho? Plus, I think the side pieces with Simonis written on it should be part of the lapels, so you KNOW it's a Simonis suit!
