It drives me bonkers getting through the same 7 layouts before it starts getting hairy!
Sometimes I think that too, but other times I see benefit from learning about and attempting to master some of the shots that seem to give me trouble.

I had the same problem when attempting the RDS challenge. What I ended up doing was making them more difficult to keep up my focus. If memory serves it was just a series of 6 ball breaks/runs with varying BIHs. I opted to run them in rotation (unnecessary) and didn't use the additional BIHs.That's what I would have done. That's a good idea, to leave a little angle on the 5. I think I usually avoid trouble with the 8 by hitting the 8 thin with the 5. That also allows the 7 to go. But the risk is missing the 8 with the 5 entirely, which I've done too many times; but I usually get out anyway with the wired combo (being careful to throw it into the cushion a little) as demonstrated in my Part 2 video.
You mean Layout 12, but I knew what you meant. I like your idea here too.
Yes.
My story for today is almost identical to yours. I'm almost ready to give up, but I'm sure I'll keep trying, even is somebody else gets the 3rd 100 first. The practice is excellent, and I haven't practiced this much is a long time.
I'm enjoying the practice too.
Catch you later.
Finally cracked 70- got a 74 tonight.
This challenge really reveals your weaknesses- for me it is concentration lapses and positional strategy errors- sometimes I should slow down and plan out a bit more, but I like to get into a rhythm as well.
Focus is everything
Yes- I will get around to posting it later today. That's good improvement over your 68. Will you be posting a video for the 74 so I can update your entry on the list?
Sounds reasonable to me; although, I like having the 7 in front of the side so can easily get to the 8 (short or long side). I am less worried about getting from the 8 to the 9. As I showed in the Part 2 video, many things work there. What about on layout number 8 instead of bumping the 7 shoot the 4 in the opposite corner and bump the 8 up in front of the side pocket therefore making the path to the 9 easier. The 6 and 7 are on opposite sides of the table so they aren’t super hard to manage and as long as u get a shot on the 7 the 8 and 9 should be easy.
I had about 15 minutes today so I was shooting this layout and just trying different things when the idea came to mind. 15 minutes is about the max I get to hit balls each day and most of the time I’m just banging at them. I haven’t really practiced much in the last year.Sounds reasonable to me; although, I like having the 7 in front of the side so can easily get to the 8 (short or long side). Here is the round from yesterday in which I got a 74. Started slow and then improved in the middle layoutsThat's good improvement over your 68. Will you be posting a video for the 74 so I can update your entry on the list?

I think I'll go for that last 100 again today!
It's definitely not just "in my head", but the table played a lot differently yesterday than it has the past few days. It's super humid/rainy out here, so I'm guessing that's it. It made layout #2 more difficult for me. When I pocket the 5, I try to get about one diamond up, so I can go forward two rails for the 7. It's been working great all week. Yesterday, that same angle kept scratching in the side, or hitting below it! I had to adjust, getting a little steeper on the 6. That worked, but it also made me unsure about all of my other choices in later layouts.
John, I hope JC takes you up on your action.I will do this as a challenge against JC.
We are about even in Fargo and he hates cte so let's do this for $50 and $50 donated to the billiard education fund.
I mean I am going to do it eventually myself but I want to spice it up a little.
