Parica sighting...

Hi, NineballCC! I heard it through the grapevine here in Toledo there was a Jose Parica sighting in Virginia. It could be a possibility that he may show up in Hagerstown this weekend. You never know where that Jose will pop up (LOL)!

Wishing you all a great tournament! :)

Nick Maninno wins PP 9-Ball tourney in Hagerstown, MD!

Nick Maninno, a pro player who lives in Pennsylvania, attended the recent Glass City Open. When he faced the Toledo hometown favorite Steve McInanch in a match, he lost 11 to 2, and I saw him afterwards in the hallway and asked him if Steve's entourage consisting of friends, family, and local Toledo fans cheering for Steve after every good shot and win was a factor in the outcome of the match. Nick stated that, indeed, it was a difficult environment to compete , but he tried his best.

Looking a little distraught, I mentioned to Nick that the Planet Pool 9-Ball Tour was having a tournament in Hagerstown, MD, beginning at noon on Saturday, November 13th, and told him he should check it out, rather than go home and lick his wounds.

Looks like Nick followed through and won the whole shebang from the losers' bracket, winning two matches in a row. Moral of the story, when one door shuts, another one will open. Congratulations, Nick!

Thanks JAM

Hey there - sorry I've been off line for the past week. I'm back. The Mannino upset wasn't the only one - Sueyen Rhee was knocked into the elim bracket by Amanda Pasko early in the day - and came back to win 7-6 first set - then won the second set to take first place. It was a long - long evening. We didn't see Parica at all. It's been a while since he's graced us with his presence!
We'll be doing our year end finals at Orange Ball - should be another huge turnout like the year opener. Catch up with you soon!
